The martini never goes away, but it does shift with the times

The martini is the eternal cocktail; always relevant, always classic. But it does go through plenty of revisions with time. The big trend in martinis for 2025, according to bartenders, is the mini martini. These shot-sized drinks are a great way to sample a range of martini styles without ending up on the floor. They’re also easy to recreate at home, especially with a group of friends. Instead of making full-sized drinks for everyone and serving them one per person, try making a variety of styles and splitting each drink into three or four portions.

As well as the classic martini of gin and vermouth, I love a reverse martini with more vermouth than gin. Another big trend this year is for savory martinis, making use of pickles and brine to add a salty note to the drink. But sweet lovers needn’t be left out, as there is also the classic breakfast martini to enjoy, making use of marmalade for its sharp but juicy orange flavors. A sampling of martini recipes from Hendrick’s Gin can act as inspiration for this trend:

It's not ready for consumers until Michter's Master Distiller Dan McKee and Michter's Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson say so. That said, even though this beloved expression that "10 Year", it likely spent a little longer in the barrel.

Ketel One Botanical

When it comes to warm weather drinks, there's one which has taken the world by storm in the last decade and shows no sign of abating: the Aperol Spritz. But as great a drink as that is -- and it really is great, from its complex bittersweet flavor to its delightful bright orange hue -- it's made practically everywhere now. If you love a spritz but fancy trying out something different for this long weekend, then the good news is that there are plenty of other spritz recipes out there for you to try.

Most spritzes will keep the essentials of sparkling wine plus something sweet and something bitter or sharp, but from there the choice truly is endless -- even allowing for the inclusion of spirits. These recipes use Ketel One Botanical, a series of flavored vodkas, to give both botanical notes and an alcoholic kick to the other fruity spritz ingredients.
