La Colombe, known for its premium, ready-to-drink draft lattes, has a new S’mores flavor available online and in stores starting April 15th. The new flavor, launched just in time for summer, puts a fun twist on the most iconic drink on the café menu: the Draft Latte.

After witnessing the love of this drink in cafés back in 2017, La Colombe launched a canned variety of the beverage to bring café-quality lattes to everyone. Below, La Colombe’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kathryn O’Connor, shares the brand’s inspiration behind the new S’mores flavor.

Developing seasonal latte flavors

Since 2017, La Colombe has seen its customers’ interest in cold coffee skyrocket. “Despite cold coffee consumption reaching its peak in warmer months, there’s a paradox in the market: spring and summer flavors remain largely absent from menus and the ready-to-drink coffee aisle, while brands continue to prioritize fall and winter classics,” says O’Connor.

“Recognizing this flavor opportunity, our team has developed thoughtful, indulgent flavors reminiscent of spring and summer months, first launching Strawberry Mocha earlier this year. We wanted to bring fun and seasonally relevant flavors to the whole year,” she says.

For the limited-edition S’mores Draft Latte, the La Colombe team worked on the recipe for about six months to ensure the consumers could taste every flavor reminiscent of s’mores, from graham cracker to toasted marshmallow to rich chocolate. “By extending summer seasonal offerings to La Colombe’s ready-to-drink Draft Latte line, [we’ve created] a bridge between our café and the consumer packaged goods experience and filling the summer flavor gap so coffee lovers can enjoy fun seasonal flavors wherever they are.

The new S’mores Draft Latte pairs coffee with layered flavors that remind coffee drinkers of the warm summer months. “We consider ourselves more than just coffee roasters, but a coffee workshop in the pursuit of perfection, holding ourselves to the highest standards and sweating the details across everything we do,” says O’Connor. While summer flavors are typically fruity or floral, La Colombe sought to do something different with an indulgent coffee that has less sugar than the average flavored coffee drink. The S’mores Draft Latte is perfect “Whether you’re on the go for an afternoon summer adventure or want something sweet to start your morning.”

Authentic and high-quality ingredients

La Colombe is committed to delivering on its promise of craft coffee, using the highest-quality ingredients in every product. O’Connor says, “We use a proprietary, natural process that maximizes the natural sweetness of dairy while breaking down the sugar in milk to create prebiotic fiber in each Draft Latte® product. The result is nutritionally enhanced milk with less sugar and more fiber, so consumers can feel good about drinking these sweet and indulgent flavors.”

The release of the limited-time S’mores Draft Latte is anticipated to reach new consumers with a nostalgic summer flavor most often associated with the outdoors. “We hope S’mores becomes an essential item when packing for any camping trip or outdoor adventure so people can enjoy the campfire experience and café-quality coffee on-the-go,” she says.

Avalon Spirits is launching Whiskey Row Bourbon with three releases
Whiskey Row bourbon is launching with three unique expressions
Whiskey Row

Named for the historic section of Main Street in Louisville, Kentucky, Whiskey Row Bourbon is the newest line from Avalon Spirits. It was created to pay tribute to pre-prohibition aging and blending techniques. The brand is set to start it all off by launching three unique expressions.
The Whiskey Row Bourbon lineup

The three Whiskey Row Bourbon releases are Triple Wood, Bottled in Bond, and Cask Strength. The Triple Wood expression gets its name because it's matured for at least four years in a charred oak before being finished in cognac and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The Bottled in Bond expression follows a "rigorous six-marker process to ensure quality" and is aged for at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse under government supervision before being bottled at a potent 100-proof. The Cask Strength is precisely as the name would make it appear. It isn't proofed down after maturing and bottled at barrel strength.
