Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t plug my own podcast. Along with my co-hosts, we take the intersection of craft beer and healthy lifestyles to its logical conclusion by hosting a roundtable discussion where we review beer, discuss our workout regimens and play a few silly games along the way. We don’t take ourselves too seriously because beer and the camaraderie that it fosters should be fun. With more than 200 episodes, there’s plenty to binge on.

In addition to these fine shows, there are even craft beer podcasts dedicated to local scenes, like the Georgia-based Beer Guys RadioOklahoma Craft Beer, and San Diego BeerTalk Radio. Whether you’re looking to learn more about beer styles, the brewers behind the beer or just listen in to a group of friends enjoy a pint, there’s a craft beer podcast just for you.

The best beer destination in Europe is not what you think

Beer

While beer is a big deal in the United States, it’s only been going through a boom for the last few decades. While there are well over 9,000 breweries currently operating in the country, back in 1988, there were only 100 craft breweries in the US. That’s a massive shift in beer’s popularity in 35 years.

Europe, on the other hand, has brewing traditions that extend for hundreds of years. While the US has only existed as a country since 1776, Germany’s Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan in the heart of Bavaria has been brewing beer since 1040. That’s a staggering 700 years longer than the US existed as a country.

Summer is the perfect time for a thirst-quenching, refreshing beer. The season is also a great time to enjoy a citrus-centric beer. The best part? Well, there are a lot to choose from. Lagers, IPAs, Gose-style beers, wheat beers, pilsners, and countless styles are flavored with citrus fruits.

If you missed it, a big beer event just happened. And no, it wasn’t the release of an apricot and yuzu sour ale from your favorite local brewery. No, it was the 2024 World Beer Cup. If you’re a soccer fan, you can understand how important a “World Cup” is. Last Wednesday, the winners of one of the most prestigious beer awards in the world were announced.

The Brewers Association started the event in the 90s, well before the craft beer boom. Beer nerds often call it ‘The Olympics of Beer Competitions’. When it was first held, there were only hundreds of breweries in the US; now, there are over 9,000. Also, remember this is the World Beer Cup, so we can’t forget the countless breweries in other countries.
How is it judged?
