Adidas finally answered the burning question that every Game of Thrones fan has been asking: Who will be left standing at the series finale?

Just kidding, the question is: “When will those magical Game of Thrones sneakers finally become available?” The answer is the same thing that we say to Death: not today. However, on March 22, you can officially cop a pair of GoT-inspired shoes for $180 online and in select Adidas retail locations — just in time for the premiere of Game of Thrones‘ eighth and final season on April 14.

There are six colorways available, each inspired by a character, house, or group of badasses in Westeros: Stark, Targaryen, Lannister, the Night’s Watch, and the White Walkers.

The Targaryens get two versions, one giving distinct House Targaryan vibes — red and black, dragons, “Fire and Blood,” all that fun family stuff — and the other representing Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons … although her whole title wouldn’t fit on the tag, so they stuck with “Fire and Blood.” The Lannister shoe mirrors the Targaryen design, but with the appropriate colors (red and gold) and motto (“Hear Me Roar”).

The Night’s Watch is similar to the Stark colorway; both are are gray and black, but the former is darker with a white sole and “Night Watch” on the tag, while the latter has a gray sole and the House Stark words, “Winter is Coming.” In contrast, the White Walker pair declares that “Winter is Here” and boasts a bright, icy blue color.

“Collaborations with franchises like Game of Thrones are part of our DNA. When brands and television series alike are able to move beyond their primary platform and spill into popular culture, we see inspiration. The project is yet another example of our open source strategy by which we treat our most iconic silhouettes as a canvas upon which we can tell a story,” said Alberto Uncini Manganelli, general manager of Adidas Running, in a press release.

That iconic silhouette features Utraboost, adidas’ acclaimed running shoe midsole technology, and the brand’s Primeknit fabric, a lightweight blend for the upper. With this combo, you’ll be able to run like Arya in the season eight trailer that lit the internet up last week:

The news has captivated us since summer 2018 when images of the shoes first began circulating. While we won’t have to wait much longer to get our hands on a pair — set a calendar reminder for March 22 so you don’t miss out on the drop — we are still waiting indefinitely for the next novel from George R.R. Martin.

Until then, we will have to keep arguing over Game of Thrones theories and enjoy some GoT whiskey.

adidas continues to elevate with a new luxury Gazelle sneaker
adidas releases new Gazelle sneaker
pair of black adidas gazelle made in italy sneakers

After the success of adidas’ luxury Samba sneaker from the Made in Italy collection, the famed athletic brand is elevating another one of their iconic silhouettes. With the Gazelle sneaker on the forefront this time, adidas adds some luxury to the casual sneaker with premium materials and craftsmanship. While the Gazelle has recently seen some sophisticated upgrades with the Dime collaboration, the new iteration of the shoe sees a sleeker and more minimalist approach. On trend with the elevation of specific sneakers by brands, the Gazelle sneaker appears to mimic more of the look of a classic Italian dress shoe rather than an everyday shoe. Whether you wear it with your suits or everyday wear, this stylish Gazelle shoe is another way to elevate your footwear rotation.
adidas Gazelle Indoor Made in Italy

Donning a monochromatic black colorway, the adidas Gazelle Indoor is the next design getting an elevated treatment via the brand’s Made In Italy collection. The sneakers are crafted from locally sourced premium leather and a black suede T-toe panel for added texture. While crafted in all-black, the smooth leather and texturized suede mixture allows for an elevated and versatile look. While most Gazelle sneakers contain branding around the sneaker, this iteration will have a more minimalist approach. With a debossed effect, the Gazelle branding is incorporated on the tongue and its heel and quarter. Finishing the sleek look are waxed laces that bring it all together. The newest Gazelle sneaker will be available via the adidas webstore starting March 13 and retail for $350. An easy way to wear sneakers with your more formal attire, the Gazelle Indoor Made in Italy sneaker is an investment in a versatile shoe that’ll see plenty of use.

adidas, Dime release new sneaker
maroon adidas gazelle

When it comes to elevating old classic designs, adidas is an expert at it. Over the past releases, we’ve seen how the brand has collaborated with other designers and brands to turn their iconic sneakers into sophisticated footwear. While their latest release has some edge, it’s an elevated look for one of their classic lifestyle shoes. Reuniting with their longtime collaborator, Dime, adidas is giving their Gazelle a revamp that combines a luxe material with some punk-inspired finishes. Far from the traditional look you’re accustomed to seeing from the Gazelle sneaker, this new iteration is an elevated design that adds some personality with a few subtle touches. While it seems as if adidas has focused on other sneakers like the Superstar and Samba when it comes to their collaborations, this Gazelle collaboration opens the door to future surprises.
Dime x adidas Gazelle ADV

Created in two colorways, the new collaborative adidas Gazelle sees the sneaker redesigned with premium leather and synthetic uppers in either maroon or black. Both iterations sit on black rubber outsoles for a sleek finish. The laces match the colorway for the ultimate elevated design for a monochromatic effect. To add a punk-inspired touch, adidas’ iconic Three Stripes branding is replaced with silver metal studs. Further details like Dime’s cursive name in chrome foil and embossed branding give the sneaker another stylish touch. Set to retail for $110, the adidas Gazelle ADV will be available via adidas’ website starting March 1. With smooth leather, metal accents, and shiny accents, this Gazelle is a sophisticated sneaker that doesn’t lose its personality.

How Adidas’ iconic Samba sneakers became the hottest sneakers around
The history of the Adidas samba

While the footwear industry continues to indulge in retro designs, one brand tends to stand out against the rest. For many seasons, Adidas has become the standard for reviving archival designs and redistributing them to a new generation. One of the first designs that began this concept was the Adidas Samba. After years as one of the hottest sneakers to own, the Samba sneaker continues to deliver exciting updates and collaboration. At the beginning of its resurgence, the Samba sneaker was the must-have shoe for almost every user. While the Samba wave continues to rise, there’s no denying that the Samba sneaker has a rich history that precedes its current explosion. Although the modern version of the sneaker is vastly different than its original design, there’s no doubt that the Samba sneaker continues to be one of the most highly sought-after sneakers in the footwear world.
Sporty beginnings

The history of the Samba sneaker traces back to 1950 when Adidas founder Adi Dassler designed and created the shoe to be worn by a German team for a soccer match on a slick, icy field. Unlike the sleek modern design, the original version was a much bulkier boot-like silhouette with an arched sole, a rubber-capped toe, and metal eyelet grommets. The Samba shoe, created to have maximum traction for the players, became a staple for soccer players playing on snowy and slippery fields. As the Samba shoe saw success, Adidas quickly worked to refine the shoe over the years.
