Author/Co-Author of 11 articles

Miguel Melendez writes about cigars, sports, and travel for The Manual. He's also a senior editor at Yahoo Sports.

Previously, Miguel was a senior editor at CBS Sports and a senior writer at Entertainment Tonight, where he profiled celebrities and notably broke the Taylor Swift-Joe Alwyn breakup news in 2023.

Before Entertainment Tonight, Miguel spent nearly six years as a writer and producer at TMZ in Los Angeles, where he wrote many of the outlet's biggest scoops. Before covering entertainment news, Miguel spent 15 years as a sports reporter, editor and producer at USA TODAY, NFL Network, FOX Sports, Los Angeles Daily News and The Orange County Register.

Miguel is an avid traveler, with 21 countries -- and counting -- under his belt, including two trips to Cuba to experience cigar heaven. When he's not traveling or writing, Miguel is puffing a stogie, sipping whiskey and trying new beer -- sometimes all at the same time while rooting for the Dodgers.

He was born in Tijuana, Mexico, and raised in Los Angeles. He's currently in Mexico City for the summer.
