As we head into the season of long, hot summer days, it’s never a bad idea to have a go-to summer, fruity cocktail that you can whip up in under five minutes. While there’s nothing wrong with the classic summer cocktails that have never failed us, like a frozen margarita, strawberry cocktails are a new trend you won’t want to miss. These three strawberry cocktails, which utilize Mozart’s strawberry chocolate liqueur, require minimal skill and time to prepare, yet deliver bar-worthy flavor.

Once you try one of these fun strawberry cocktails, you’ll be hooked all summer long. From a light strawberry cream margarita to a strawberry cold foam iced coffee dessert cocktail, here’s how to make three strawberry cocktails, perfect for warm-weather entertaining.

Strawberry cream margarita

Mozart’s strawberry chocolate liqueur adds just the right strawberry flavor and creaminess — the key to making a strawberry cream margarita. Who said margaritas have to only pair with Mexican food? Made with cocoa from West Africa, Fair Trade vanilla from Madagascar, and cream from the Netherlands, this strawberry margarita mixes indulgent strawberry chocolate liqueur with tequila for a sweet twist on a traditional margarita.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Mozart Strawberry Chocolate Liqueur
  • 2 oz of any tequila
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • Optional: Strawberry and lime twist, for garnish

Method

  1. Start by combining all of your cocktail ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass with crushed ice.
  3. If desired, garnish with a strawberry and lime twist for an aesthetically pleasing (and social-media worthy) strawberry cream margarita.

Strawberry gin fiz

Fizzy drinks remind me of summer, and this one looks like a light classic that would pair wonderfully with a picnic or a brunch. With a touch of creaminess from the heavy cream and fizziness from club soda, this strawberry cocktail is an excellent option as a signature drink for summer events and gatherings (or to enjoy on your summer day off).

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Mozart Strawberry Chocolate Liqueur
  • 1 oz gin
  • 1 oz heavy cream
  • .5 oz fresh lemon juice
  • .5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 1 egg white
  • Club soda to top
  • Optional: Strawberry and lemon wheel, for garnish

Method

  1. Start by combining all ingredients and dry-shaking for 30 seconds to build your foam (a key component to this strawberry beverage)
  2. Add ice and shake vigorously for an additional 30 seconds, or until well chilled.
  3. Strain into a tall glass.
  4. Top slowly with club soda, letting the foam rise.
  5. If desired, garnish with a strawberry and lemon wheel.

Strawberry cold foam iced coffee

As a coffee lover, this spiked version of a strawberry cold foam iced coffee has me most excited of all these recipes. Cold foam is always delicious on top of any coffee order, but I can’t say I’ve ever tried it in a strawberry variety. This recipe seems like one that could be dangerous (in the best way possible).

Ingredients

For strawberry cold foam:

  • 2 tbsp Mozart Strawberry Chocolate Liqueur
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream and Mozart Strawberry Chocolate Liqueur.
  2. Whip using a milk frother or whisk until a light foam forms.
  3. Fill a glass with ice and add cold brew coffee.
  4. Add Strawberry Chocolate Liqueur and stir.
  5. Spoon the strawberry cold foam over the coffee.

A summery cocktail duo for National Tequila Day
Summer-approved drinks that put the famed spirit on a pedestal
A glass of Summer Sangria in between a plate of watermelon slices and a bottle of 1800 Silver Tequila.

National Tequila Day is coming right up, falling on July 24th this year. And while we believe most days are suitable for fine agave spirits, a day solely devoted to the stuff seems extra fitting. This year, instead of the standard Margarita or Paloma, perhaps it's time to try something a little different.

We were offered a couple of options from 1800 Tequila and after mixing a few up on a hot summer's day, we thought it was time to share the goods. By adding things as simple as fresh fruit and syrups, these cocktails deliver extra layers of enjoyment. Sometimes, a little twist is all it takes from something to seem new and refreshing.

A couple of classics, with rum front and center
Copalli Rum trio.

We're living in the rum renaissance. The spirit is no longer just a quiet backseat mixer, it's a star in its own right, playing a major role in classic cocktail recipes across the board. Perhaps best, it's wildly place-specific, showcasing the flavors of the very place its raised, whether that's Belize, Hawaii, the West Indies, or somewhere else.

Turns out, you can swap that bourbon or gin for rum in a lot of cases within the wide world of cocktails. You just need the right rum, like Copalli. The Belizean maker features white and aged rums, as well as a decidedly delicious and unique cacao rum. Whiel you can sip these offerings on their own, we suggest them in the following mixed sippers.
