Threes Brewing in Brooklyn is ready for summer. The acclaimed New York City outfit has released a handful of beers, just in time for vacation season. Beer styles covered include lagers, pilsners, and even a non-alcoholic hop water.

The beers are available for nationwide shipping or can be picked up at one of the brand’s NYC outposts. First up, Sidenote, a hard seltzer brewed with Mosaic hops and pineapple. It’s a refreshing option built for hot days, coming in at just 5% ABV.

Next, Gender Neutral, a beer that celebrates Pride Month. The brew is a pale lager treated to lemon zest and is 4.5% ABV. Then, there’s Don’t Blink, a west coast Pilsner made with five different hop varieties and an ABV of 5.7%.

Next, Luger Lager, a Bavarian beer made in collaboration with NYC’s Peter Luger Steak House. Lastly, the aptly-named Plot Twist, a non-alcoholic drink made with hops that drinks like a sparkling water. Threes is also doing a Summer of Pils 8-pack that includes some of its most beloved Pilsners.

It’s yet another beer drop from a craft circuit that’s embracing the summer with intriguing new options. We’ve already seen some fine options and are excited for what’s next. Keep it right here for the latest on that front.

Threes Brewing started in 2014 and has since grown to include four pubs in the New York area. In 2024, it was named “brewery of the year” at the Great American Beer Festival. The label is led by brewer Josh Penney.

A radiant drink for Hispanic Heritage Month
Rooftop at Exchange Place.

There are a lot of great NYC bars out there. But there's one drink in particular catching our eye right now, made expertly at the Rooftop at Exchange Place. The drink is as good as the bar's spectacular views, which include panoramas of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline.

This drink works on so many levels. It's a timely one, mixing up things like peach that we tend to associate with late summer. It's also a great means of celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, which commences mid-September. It's also just plain refreshing, an ideal cocktail for these last hot gasps of summer.

Why grilling trout brings back the best summer memories — and tips to do it right
Learn how to make the most delicious summertime meal.
Homemade potatoes and trout fish with herbs and butter

Some of my fondest childhood memories revolve around summer days spent trout fishing with my dad. We’d reel them in, clean them right there in the boat, and then fire up the grill for dinner. These days, that smoky, tender trout remains one of my all-time favorite dishes, and now, one I love to cook with my own kids.
Grilled trout is a total crowd-pleaser because it nails that sweet spot between delicate flavor and just-right texture. The flesh is tender and flaky, with a subtle sweetness and a fresh, clean taste that never feels heavy. When you grill it, you get this amazing smoky char that lifts the fish’s natural richness without taking over. Plus, the skin crisps up perfectly, adding a satisfying crunch that plays beautifully against the soft, flaky meat inside. So if you've been wanting to grill your own fresh catches this summer, it's time to get started. I promise, it's actually much easier than you may think.
