“I really love doing fall collections,” began Derrick. “I love all the textures of fall—the sweaters, the wool, the layering—and try to incorporate those aesthetics into my designs.”

“In this particular collection, we played with textures by mixing soft suedes with our signature polished leathers,” he continued. “This imbues our footwear with a certain versatility, which makes it easy to transition any pair from a casual to formal setting.”

This combination of materials is best exemplified by the line’s rugged Pearson boot with black leather and black suede accents ($498), the elegant Theo dress boot with brown leather and navy suede ($498) and the Blake Cognac, a refined work boot with burnished cognac leather and flint suede ($450).

The line also features dozens of other highly wearable designs, including several lace-up dress shoes ($325-$498), sophisticated slip ons ($325-$498) and playful sneakers ($295-$398).

Each pair is constructed with high-quality natural materials (first choice select Italian hand-cut leather) and incorporates the latest in comfort technology, which makes the shoes weather-proof and extra supportive.

“While the designs might appear delicate at first, they’re actually incredibly durable,” Derrick explained. “These are shoes that are built to withstand the elements and last for several seasons.”

“I try to create a lifestyle collection for my customer, one that’ll take him from casual outings, to business meetings all the way to formal gatherings,” he concluded. “Here, he’s got options for every aspect of his life.”

In addition to its gorgeous selection of boots and shoes, To Boot’s fall collection also features a line of stylish socks in a variety of patterns and solid colors. Each pair retails for $30.

In the long list of must-haves men need for their closet, one of the most important to pick up is Chelsea boots. From wearing them with suits to wearing them with jeans and flannels, these will be some of the most valuable shoes in your closet, especially in the fall. Men's Chelsea boots are versatile and necessary, and these are the ones that will work with everything you already have in your collection, simply taking the place of some of your favorite shoes and extending the life of each.

A brief history of Chelsea boots
Chelsea boots get their name from the fashionable Chelsea district of London. Chelsea was the epicenter of fashion and music during the 1960s. It was here that fashion designers resurrected a style of ankle boot first worn by Queen Victoria in the 1840s. Shoemaker Joseph Sparks Hall adapted a traditional English riding boot for everyday use by the Queen. To make them more comfortable, he lowered the shaft to ankle height, and to make them easier to get on and off, he added elastic gussets on each side. The style became popular during the late 1800s but disappeared during WWI.

New Balance’s Vegan V’s Are Now Animal Free

Beatle founder Paul McCartney famously went vegetarian in 1975, beginning a celebrity trend that continues through today with performers like A$AP Rocky and Billy Eilish shunning livestock products. Not only do these stars not consume meat, but they also don’t wear animal-tested goods or allow beast-made clothing or furniture at venues hosting their shows.

These animal-free lifestyles helped to shape the current moment with the emergence of dozens of meat alternative foods and sans-animal apparel. This January, the Boston-based New Balance shoe company jumped on board the creature-free product train.
