While the Mostro has become the star of Puma’s recent releases, it’s been hard to classify the sneaker as anything but a statement design. Made to be seen, the Mostro’s often chunky silhouette is far from the slim look of its competitor, Adidas’ Samba sneaker. However, in its newest release, Puma has partnered up with JJJJound for a new minimalist look that delivers a subdued design to this iconic silhouette. JJJJound is no stranger to remixing iconic shoes, having done so in the past with other iconic brands like ASICS and New Balance. True to their brand, JJJJound has introduced a new minimalist look for the Mostro, making it a versatile option for Puma footwear fans.

True to his style, JJJJound’s minimalist touch has once again found a partner, this time with Puma’s Mostro sneaker. Arriving in two rich, moody shades, the new launch is an elevated version of Puma’s statement shoe. Featuring premium nubuck uppers and a supple leather lining, these sneakers offer a modern update to the original 1999 design. Replacing the traditional forefoot strap closure are conventional laces, giving it a more classic look. Puma’s Formstrip is also included, but in a more low-key, simple stitching across the upper. Staying true to the original design, Mostro’s spiked sole unit features a black hue. JJJJound’s branding graces the sole insert with a modest stamped detail.

Available in brown and navy blue, these new Mostro sneakers are the perfect way to seamlessly integrate this new star into your wardrobe. The JJJJound Mostro sneaker is now available via JJJJound and will be released on July 12 to select Puma stockists. For those missing the traditional Mostro look, a more classic version of the collaborative design is expected to arrive sometime in 2025 in a decadent green shade.

As brands like Nike and Adidas have done in previous years, PUMA’s Suede has undergone the switch from a basketball sneaker to a stylish lifestyle shoe. Still donning a low-key and slim shape, the PUMA Suede’s leap into the lifestyle world has allowed it to be subject to plenty of new looks. One of the latest iterations of the Suede sneaker comes via the brand’s most recent collaboration with Boston-based Bodega. Featuring a new shaggy, hairy suede, Suede’s new look is perfect for those looking for a sneaker that’ll add texture and statement to their wardrobe. Along with the latest sneaker, the duo will also release an accompanying apparel collection with graphic tees, jerseys, and more. Looking to upgrade yet another iconic PUMA silhouette, the Suede sneaker shows how an everyday casual sneaker can double as a street-style staple piece.
