Introducing Alex Mill

Alex Drexler has taken the motto, ‘Like Father, Like Son’ to the next level. Alex is the son of Mickey Drexler, the CEO of J. Crew, and has launched his own collection of cozy basics for the modern man and his son called Alex Mill. It’s rolling out for fall 2013 – right now.

The collection was built around the idea of a man’s uniform of well-crafted essentials with a reasonable price point ($55-$295). There is the woven shirt, the classic fit jean, the eponymous t-shirt and unstructured blazer. Drexler junior spent over ten years in production and other arenas of the fashion industry, so he wanted something that lasts, has plenty of character and improves with wear. The entire collection is founded on the ‘Wash & Go’ principle, nothing precious here, you can take it, wear it and wash it anywhere and be good to go. The 100% cashmere hats and gloves are also high on our wish list for fall/winter warmth.

While we are pumped to have a new basic brand for us guys, it’s great to see someone doing something for the little guy that doesn’t make him look like another mall clone. Shirts in chambray, multi-colored stripes and mis-matched plaids are refreshing for kids aged 2-10.

Next season the brand will continue to evolve to an idea of the man’s uniform. Alex revealed that they will be introducing a chino, polo, military jacket and other key items centering around the uniform idea. We wonder when the J.Crew collab will happen to make the ‘Father/Son’ come full circle.

Alex Mill can be found at Barneys and Barneys.com, Unionmade and www.unionmadegoods.com, Odin, United Arrows, Journal Standard and the Mohawk General Store as well as other specialty stores throughout the world.

Hockerty adds Italian icon fabric mills to a deepening suit collection
Hockerty adds Loro Piana and Cerruti to their suit line up
Hockerty suits on two men

Hockerty is one of the leaders in the ever-widening online suit business. While we as a society have developed a firm grasp on online shopping over the last few decades, suits have always been a business struggling to keep up with the increasingly low brick-and-mortar turnout due to the in-depth process of getting just the right suit. Thanks to innovations in their process, Hockerty has become one of the best in getting as close to perfection in this field as we can expect. Recently, they expanded to an Italian Suits collection, bringing in the best of the best fabrics from mills all over the beloved country. They have added to the collection as you can now pick up Hockerty suits with fabrics from iconic Italian mills, Loro Piana and Cerruti.
Iconic mills Loro Piana and Cerruti

Cerruti began when Nico Cerruti's grandfather started a spinning mill. In 1950, before Nico even hit two decades on the planet, he took over and began building what we know now as Cerruti 1881. Being one of the top 5 drapers in all of Italy, they are a fantastic addition to the Hockerty line. For Loro Piana, it is a pop culture moment for the century-old brand. It is the go-to for billionaires everywhere, and it cemented that reputation with the appearance of Kendal Roy's (Jeremy Strong) kind of style in Succession. Now, we're not talking about Hockerty pushing a $25,000 car coat like Loro Piana is, but having fabric from their mill in the collection allows those of us not heir to a billionaire fortune to look and feel like we are.

REGAL introduces the must-have luxurious dress shoe for the winter
REGAL releases a wingtip shoe
closeup on black wingtip shoes

Although dress shoes are the go-to choice for all formal events, there’s one con to sophisticated footwear. Despite the debonair style, dress shoes tend to lack protection against the elements, making them uncomfortable during the colder months. Even in warmer climates, dress shoes can be an unstable and uneasy choice in rougher terrain. In their newest release, REGAL Shoe & Co. is looking to upgrade the iconic wingtip shoe with one that’s stylish and practical. Reinforced with new footwear features, their latest design ensures your style is sleek even in rough conditions. A worthy investment for future events, REGAL’s latest offering is all about durability and being as comfortable as possible.
Dressing up the REGAL x GORE-TEX Wing-Tip

With two new takes on REGAL’s Wing-Tip GXB model, the brand buffed up its formal shoe with GORE-TEX. While the two designs have the same familiar look to them, the added features allow them to be easier to wear in cold conditions. Inside the shoe, GORE-TEX fabric allows for breathability while keeping it waterproof. The outside is made with Japanese Sanyo leather and comes with Vibram outsoles. While both designs are the same, the second design comes with contrast white stitching, giving the shoe more flair. Crafted to be lightweight, durable, and comfortable, this wingtip shoe solves your chilly winter events. Retailing for $330 and $331, both designs are available via REGAL’s web store, along with their previous GORE-TEX designs. Although dress shoes are made to be worn during specific events, having a durable and waterproof pair allows you to be ready for anything.

Y.Chroma introduces the Swiss Army Knife of the coat world

Y.Chroma Quatro Jacket under a coat

Having a good coat wardrobe is one of the most critical pieces of your closet. Staying warm is an extremely important function of the coat, and style is an add-on that often gets lost when men need to guard themselves from the cold. When a man embraces the importance of style, that is, when he decides to dive deep into "functional fashion" and values the warmth and the appearance of a good coat; then he has to run out and buy multiple coats for every occasion. That is where Y.Chroma feels they can make a change. The Y.Chroma Quatro Jacket is the answer to the problem of needing multiple coats. They want you to look good and stay warm in numerous occasions, all in one jacket they are calling the Swiss Army Knife of jackets.
All your jackets in one

One of the things that Max Israel, founder of Y.Chroma, does so well is he offers products that are both functional in that they fit your lifestyle in ways you didn't even know you needed and fashionable in ways that they will stand out and not be seen anywhere else in your circle of influence until they see yours and want to buy their own. We call that trendsetting, by the way. With the Quatro, it looks better than any other quilted coat on the market, but it is also convertible to numerous styles: A hoodless vest, a hooded vest, a light jacket, and a lined puffer. Finally, there is a coat you can wear that is adjustable to changing temperatures and changing social environments.
