Have you ever wanted to a bag that you had in your head, but it didn’t exist anywhere you looked? We sure have, but didn’t want to take the time to sort through fabric, make our own pattern and sew it together. Who has time for that? Now the folks at Chrome have come up with the perfect solution so you can create your own Chrome bag.

First, you select the bag style. You can choose from the Citizen or Mini Metro messenger bags, or the barrage backpack. Then, depending on the style, you select the colors — yellow, black, green, blue, olive, red, red-orange, purple, grey and the limited edition pink, green and orange — of the front, main body, side, flaps and panels, buckles, pockets and or strap. Once you’re finished with all that, you confirm your design, and voila — you can order your own custom-designed Chrome bag.

The custom designs we spotted on the website had color palettes that ranged from red and black, to flourescent to navy and grey. You can tote it with you as you ride your bike throughout the city, or on your back as you walk that urban jungle. You’ll carry it around with the satisfaction of knowing that you created it all on your own.

Best of all, you can upload your design onto the website and show off to your friends and say, “Hey guys, check out my new backpack — I designed it myself.” All your friends will be look at you and feel impressed.

Design Your Own Custom PolarFleece Right Down to the Buttons
Custom Polar Fleece Steven John Close-up

Some garments are always hip. A good pair of blue jeans, lace-up leather boots, and a button-down shirt, for example, have looked good on a man for decades, and there's little chance they'll ever lose their cool. The pullover fleece might not have had such total staying power, but the once-popular fleece is back in a big way now, and just maybe it will stick around this time.

Style writ large is also cyclical, as you know, and right now the '90s happen to be back in vogue. So whereas a few short years ago neon yellow accents on an electric blue top would have been not so cool -- now? That's cool. But hey, maybe you weren't into that level of color back when things were smelling like Teen Spirit and you're sure not into it now. No problem, maybe you want something more demure in your garments, something like a blend of subtle grays and slate blues. Or maybe you want to go full-on America with your color palate.
