London Marriott Hotel County Hall
London Marriott Hotel County Hall

I’ve always had a soft spot for a great view, and, I’ll admit, I’m the person who will happily pay a little extra for that perfect cityscape or ocean panorama. Whether it’s a skyline glowing at sunset, waves breaking just beyond your balcony, or mountains rising in the distance, the right view can elevate a trip from memorable to truly special. Here’s a look at some stunning hotels in unforgettable destinations that are worth booking for the view alone.

London Marriott Hotel County Hall, London, UK

At the London Marriott Hotel County Hall, every moment comes with a postcard-worthy view. Overlooking the River Thames, the newly renovated rooms and suites (opened in early 2025) offer sweeping sights of the London Eye, Big Ben, and beyond – some with private balconies and exclusive viewing platforms. Housed in the former offices of the Great London Government, the hotel was reimagined with contemporary design in mind. Enjoy dinner at Gilray’s Steakhouse or Afternoon Tea in the 20th-century library, both framed by iconic London scenery.

HIGHSTAY, Paris, France

Eiffel I, part of HIGHSTAY’s new Curated by collection, delivers uninterrupted Eiffel Tower views from its private rooftop and full-length terrace. Situated in a quiet, tree-lined alley near the Champ de Mars in the 7th arrondissement, this private residence offers both seclusion and Parisian glamour. Inside, a stone staircase leads to a bright living area opening onto the terrace, while two serene bedrooms, a modern kitchen, elegant bathrooms, and curated décor create a luxurious atmosphere.

HOSHINOYA Fuji, Yamanashi, Japan

If glamping had a luxury penthouse, it would be HOSHINOYA Fuji. Tucked into the forested slopes above Lake Kawaguchi, with Mt. Fuji front and center, Japan’s first glamping resort turns the great outdoors into something you’ll never forget. Each room juts out from the building so a third of your space is outdoors. At check-in, you’re handed a backpack stocked with glamping goodies (think headlamp, binoculars, biscotti) so you can explore in style.

The St. Regis Downtown Dubai, Dubai, UAE

The St. Regis Downtown Dubai delivers front-row views of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Water Canal from its 298 luxurious rooms and suites. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood each space with light, while marble bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes add to the indulgence. Guests enjoy the signature St. Regis Butler Service, ensuring every need is taken care of. Outside, the infinity pool overlooks the canal, and The St. Regis Spa invites relaxation with facials, massages, and traditional hammams.

The Chedi Andermatt, Switzerland

Perched 1,447 meters high in the Swiss Alps, The Chedi Andermatt offers amazing views of snow-capped peaks like the Gemsstock and the peaceful Ursern Valley. Each room features expansive picture windows and private terraces, perfectly showcasing the alpine scenery. The hotel’s blend of Asian-inspired design and Alpine elegance creates a serene retreat, whether you’re soaking in the heated outdoor pool or unwinding by the fireplace.

Hyatt Vacation Club at Pinon Point, Sedona, Arizona

Set against Sedona’s legendary red rock backdrop, Hyatt Vacation Club at Piñon Pointe gives guests a front-row view of one of the Southwest’s most beautiful landscapes. The 109 newly renovated, residential-style villas, along with the outdoor pool, tennis courts, and cozy firepits, all overlook sweeping vistas of the cliffs and canyons. Perfectly situated in the heart of Sedona, the resort is steps from downtown’s art galleries, shops, and restaurants, and just minutes from iconic hikes like Broken Arrow Trail and Cathedral Rock.

Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya, Riviera Maya, Mexico

Set within a mangrove preserve and facing a stunning expanse of Caribbean shoreline, the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya is all about the view. Each of its 173 oceanfront suites offers uninterrupted sea vistas, complete with private soaking tubs or swim-up pools. Designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, the resort delivers a sense of seclusion while keeping the turquoise water front and center in every part of the guest experience.

Marriott Vacation Club, New York City, New York, New York

In the heart of Midtown Manhattan, the Marriott Vacation Club, New York City offers skyline views and instant access to landmarks like Bryant Park and Times Square. Whether you’re a Vacation Club owner or visiting for a quick getaway, the accommodations are comfortable and perfectly situated. Rooms facing 36th Street showcase views of the Empire State Building, but for the ultimate perspective, head to Top of the Strand, the hotel’s rooftop bar with a retractable glass roof.

Aston Waikiki Circle Hotel, Honolulu, Hawaii

Renovated in 2021, Aston Waikiki Circle Hotel provides a stunning oceanfront setting on Maui’s amazing coastline. This family-friendly property offers guest rooms with private lanais, each boasting full or partial views of the Pacific. Bright, inviting furnishings and thoughtful layouts, including two double beds in every unit, make it a great choice for both couples and families. With the shoreline just steps away, every stay comes with the soothing sound of waves right outside your door.

Park Hyatt Sydney, Sydney, Australia

Perched right on the edge of Sydney Harbour, the Park Hyatt Sydney offers views of the iconic Opera House. From your private balcony, you can watch green and gold ferries glide across the water as the city wakes up, all just steps from the historic Rocks precinct. For the ultimate stay, the Quay Suite features 120 square metres of space, a king bed, a separate sitting area, and three private balconies framing Sydney’s Opera House and harbour.
