The Comunity Mateo Collection Features Side-lacing Technology

Amongst the saturated market of runners, Los Angeles-based Comunity footwear has released something unique and refreshing: the Comunity Mateo collection. These side-lacing sneakers boasting quality Italian suede leather and an OrthoLite Brand insole, culminate in a buttery soft and breathable shoe. Oh, and they are also made in downtown Los Angeles.

On top of that, $10 from each pair sold goes to a partnered charity of your choice — Street Poets, The People Concern, Youth Mentoring Connection. So, there’s a little motivation in there for you philanthropic donators, too.

The classic runner rendition is an innovative take on an everyday runner shoe, coming in two neutral color ways, sand or black. What we really dig about these kicks is the surprisingly easy slip-on lacing design, which is both functionally comfortable and creatively fresh.

To go along with this luxury look, the Mateo lacing design also promotes a luxury feel by use of their Comunity custom fit for men. This system has tailored the best fit for their textures, as the suede leather will take the mold of your feet over time.

In fact, they’re so darned comfortable that they can be worn with, or without, socks. Just make sure you go a half-size down if you’re a no sock kind of guy.

Comunity has one goal, and that is to change perspectives from the “me” to the “we.” With the help of 292 backers, Comunity’s Kickstarter campaign has now evolved into a community that handcrafts premium sneakers to inspire action, engagement, and empowerment in their customer base.

Take a look at the Comunity Mateo collection to see if they inspire you to support your hardworking feet, while also supporting the arts, the homeless, or education.
