London is one of the hubs for men’s style. The bespoke shops of Savile Row are forever the home of the best suits you could ever get your hands on. You can look to the region for the caliber or attire James Bond wears—the elevated suits and shoes sported by Kingsman. You can trace many of our favorite styles back to the seat of the British Empire over the years. Maybe one of the most famous is the Chelsea boot. There is no mystery why some people will visit London and come back with inspiration. That is how Jacob Hurwitz came up with the idea for American Trench. Starting with the classic trench coat and expanding, his company is one of the premier destinations for British style, with the added bonus of being domestically manufactured. The American Trench Fall and Winter collection drops in the second half with more American-made brilliance.

British style. American manufacturing.

There are three words we always love when we go shopping for clothing: Made in America. Sometimes, finding something like a stellar overcoat, a great sweater, or Donegal trousers with a British feel is challenging if you want something from our shores. The Commuter Collection brings all of those with stellar style and fulfills the domestic requirements. The standouts to elevate your new English-inspired look are the Herringbone Tweed Blazer, the Highlander Balmacaan belted overcoat, and the Chester Rollneck Sweater. If you want the best way to update your wardrobe this winter, get a little hint of England.

The best spring sweater is one locally made at Hotel Ranga in Iceland

The most common thing that happens when we feel the first bit of warm weather is that we get that false sense of security, thinking that the cold weather is gone. Out comes the summer wardrobe and away goes the winter wardrobe. The problem is that the weather is unpredictable, and the cold weather is almost guaranteed to return. Especially if you live in the northern United States, one of the most valuable garments you can get is a spring sweater. It's the perfect layering piece and keeps you warm when unexpected cold snaps return. Most guys will hop online and find some run-of-the-mill spring sweater that everyone else has. But there is a better way.

I recently got the opportunity to travel to Iceland where I stayed at Hotel Ranga in the scenic countryside on the Southern part of the island. Everything you could want from a resort can be found at the hotel. Great food, expertly crafted drinks, hot tubs, and even better for me and anyone else looking for the perfect seasonal sweater -- custom Icelandic sweaters made just for you, all organized by the hotel itself.

Dress like a Kentucky Derby pro with advice from a menswear expert
Head of Brand for Tie Bar teaches us how to dress for the Kentucky Derby
TieBar x Laura Ashley two men in stables

The first weekend in May annually hosts what many call "The most exciting two minutes in sports." Other than watching Greg Maddux run out a very rare triple hit by a pitcher back in the '90s, I have never heard anything in sports carry that same label. Ever since the grandson of the Clark half of the Lewis and Clark expedition traveled to Europe and gained a love for the sport of horseracing, the Kentucky Derby has captured the hearts and minds of race fans everywhere.

But, you know I don't write about horse racing. I write about men's style. This brings us to the best part of the day at Churchill Downs: Kentucky Derby outfits. My favorite part of the event is seeing how creative men can get with their looks. The bright colors, the hats, the ties, the fabrics. Maybe it is me being a menswear nerd, or perhaps it is just as sartorially interesting as the Oscars. Either way, I wanted to get some help on how to dress for race day, so I reached out to Michelle Kohanzo, Head of Brand for Tie Bar, and she gave me some insight on how you can capture all the attention without looking like a try-hard.
