Led by a knowledgeable historian, the tour immerses visitors in the early days of the American Revolution, focusing on the crucial years between 1760 and 1775. Along the 2.5-mile route, participants explore 16 significant historical sites, including the Old South Meeting House (where the Boston Tea Party was sparked), the Old State House, Boston’s oldest surviving public building, and the Old Corner Bookstore, which once published the works of literary giants like Thoreau and Hawthorne.

Other experiences that made the list

Viator named 20 standout experiences across the U.S. in its 2025 rankings, showcasing a wide range of adventures from coast to coast. Coming in second place is Big Island in a Day, a full-day tour in Hawaii where travelers explore the waterfalls, volcanoes, and diverse landscapes of the Big Island.

In third place, it’s back to Massachusetts for a guided walking tour of Salem. This tour dives into the town’s haunted history and infamous witch trials, offering spooky stories and eerie insight into one of America’s most mysterious destinations.

Other top-rated experiences include a dual-country tour of Niagara Falls, which gives guests the chance to experience the falls from both the American and Canadian sides. In Savannah, Georgia, a one-hour cemetery golf cart guided tour made the list, offering a unique way to explore the city’s famously haunted graveyards.

Foodies will appreciate the inclusion of the Little Havana Food and Walking Tour in Miami, where participants sample Cuban cuisine while learning about the culture of one of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods.

Norovirus outbreaks are surging on cruise ships in 2025: Here’s how to stay safe
Norovirus outbreaks on cruise ships are at a record high
Cruise ship into the sunset

Norovirus is making waves on cruise ships in 2025, with a sharp rise in outbreaks reported so far this year. As of early May, 16 outbreaks of gastrointestinal illness on cruise ships have met the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) threshold for public notification. Alarmingly, 12 of those outbreaks were caused by norovirus, the highly contagious virus known for its rapid spread and harsh symptoms.

One of the most recent incidents occurred on Holland America Line's Eurodam, where 148 passengers and 22 crew members fell ill between April 12 and May 3. This spike in outbreaks is notable, as previous years saw far fewer incidents: 2024 recorded 18 outbreaks in total, while 2023 saw 14.

Climbing Mount Everest just got harder — and possibly safer
Climbing Everest? Here are some new rules for the 2025 season
Mount Everest

Climbing Mount Everest is a bucket-list destination for many ambitious climbers around the world. However, it's also one of the most dangerous. 2023 saw 22 tragic deaths according to the Himalayan Database, marking it the most deadly year on record. Due to this, the Nepali government is implementing several new rules to reduce the risk of loss of life. These new rules were outlined in the Integrated Tourism Bill from Nepal's upper house of Parliament. Here's what you need to know:

In 2023, many of the deaths were linked to altitude sickness or heart attacks in unprepared hikers. For this reason, climbers must now provide a certificate of health 30 days before their expeditions. Climbers must also show proof of having summited at least one peak over 7,000 meters (22,965 feet) in Nepal before applying for an Everest Permit. This permit is valid for two years but will now cost $15,000 instead of $11,000 per person, and will not be transferable or refundable.
