Game of Thrones x John Varvatos Collection Drops Just in Time for Final Season Premiere

Fans of Game of Thrones, get ready — there’s something more than winter coming.

That’s right, diehard menswear aficionados and “Throne” fans alike have a little something extra to wear and enjoy as the final season of GOT approaches on Sunday, April 14 (finally).

Rock and roll inspired designer John Varvatos and HBO are partnering on Game of Thrones x John Varvatos, an official, exclusive collaborative collection of menswear inspired by the popular series. Whether or not you’ve powered through and caught up with each episode of the acclaimed series, this collection is worth a look. And there no spoilers, we promise.

With 11 different pieces to satisfy your appetite for killer style, from the seriously expensive Winterfell Leather Jacket (pricing in at more than $2,600) to the more affordably priced Heritage Henley, the Game of Thrones x John Varvatos is the menswear-TV mashup you didn’t know you needed in your life, and it couldn’t come at a better time.

The real kicker here is that Varvatos has turned the visually striking world of Westeros into a menswear collection that captures the texture of the show — from the linen-cotton Kingsroad Pants, featuring a tapered fit and a distressed finish, to the heavy-washed linen construction of the Heritage Henley (pair up both with a denim jacket or perhaps one of the leather jackets from the collaboration itself).

For the guy who prefers his everyday carry essentials to have a bit of flair, there’s also the Traveler Bag, which doesn’t look too far off from something you’d see slung across the back of a horse-mounted rider on the show. There’s also a run of graphic T-shirts, including one with that famed phrase, “Winter Is Coming” (hey, you had to know that was being made, right?).

But the real king of this collection is the aforementioned Winterfell Leather Jacket, with all the edgy appeal you’d expect from a John Varvatos leather jacket (and a price tag to match).

Are you really a fan of Game of Thrones if you don’t pick up a piece from this collection? We’ll leave that for you to decide. Pledge your allegiance wisely, Westerosians!

Sad you don’t see any footwear included in the above collection? Look instead to Adidas that has a whole slew of shoes to help you rep your House pride.

Yes, Crocs makes a boat shoe — and it actually works
Crocs' recent surprise release is a sophisticated boat shoe
Crocs classic clog boat shoe

While it may seem as if Crocs are only made to be a casual or leisure shoe you wear around the house, the truth is that the brand also serves to be an all-terrain footwear choice. The brand’s waterproof material makes it ideal for those traversing through muddy or wet conditions, without the added worry of ruining your shoes. This primary benefit of the shoe makes it a good option for unknown outdoor conditions. Although the Crocs shoe boasts comfort and practicality, its traditional clog look makes it slightly more challenging to style with most outfits. In their most recent launch, Crocs seems to remedy this by introducing a new boat shoe that fuses a timeless style with the practical waterproof material it's become known for.

Shearling returns to men’s fashion with a rugged, refined edge
Designers are reinventing pelts with sustainable and high-end twists

After years of languishing on the sidelines and disappearing entirely from runways, fur (and more specifically shearling) has gained prominence yet again at many fashion houses as designers showcase sustainable fur trends in their latest lines for fall and winter. But with a growing popularity, distinction matters to understand the nuances between fur and shearling.

While both are ideal for the winter months, shearling (tanned sheepskin with wool) offers a layered look that can be found on bomber jackets or as the lining in slippers. The ethical difference between fur and shearling is that sheep are farmed only for food, not for their skin. Shearling is one kind of fur. On one side, it is made of suede, and on the other side, it is made of fur that has been trimmed. The beauty of design lies in each brand making the decision on how to showcase the material for their audience, resulting in a singular aesthetic that can rewrite the rules of innovation. The following are some noted fashion houses that have offered a fresh take in recent collections that don’t compromise style.
