Coastal Life: Howler Brothers

It’s finally starting to warm up around the country, we have daylight well into the evening, and spring breakers are sleeping their collective hangovers off, so that can only mean one thing: It’s time for some warm weather adventures. Whether this spring takes you to tropical destinations for some dawn patrol surfing, or further north in pursuit of cold rivers and late evening fly-fishing, you need to prepare for the water with the best spring gear. We’ve been testing some of the apparel and gear from the new Spring Line from Howler Brothers while fly-fishing and climbing our way through the West, and we can easily say that we’ve found your new favorite beach and mountain apparel.

Gaucho Snapshirt
Taking design cues from classic western style button-up shirts, the Gaucho Snapshirt is the foundation of the Howler line. Classic pearl snaps and pleated chest pockets are combined with quick drying fabric and a vented back yoke. The unique embroidery touches – from roosters to palm trees – round out this perfect summer weight travel shirt. Whether you’re jetsetting far afield or simply fishing your favorite local river, this shirt is what you should reach for.

Smith x Howler Brothers Sunglasses
Howler teamed up with Smith Optics this Spring to launch a limited edition run of co-branded sunglasses. Our pair of Docksides has taken us above the treeline chasing spring snow in Jackson Hole, and helped spot monster trout along the Green River in Utah. The chromapop lenses are etched with the Howler monkey logo, and increase contrast and depth perception by selectively amplifying certain color wavelengths. The custom matte tortoise frames with a touch of Howler’s signature orange will stand out in any environment. If you’re looking for a more toned back look, they’ve also got a pair called the Lowdown that will handle urban settings nicely.

Bruja Boardshorts
The retro styled Bruja Boardshorts are a simple, elegant answer to the typical too-short hipster swim trunks and too baggy “bro” beach attire. A nine inch inseam and comfortable polyester microfiber body ensure that these shorts will be your go-to for days on the beach or lake for seasons to come. With half a dozen color options, you may just have to get a few pairs for that Memorial Day weekend trip to Key West.

Parmigiani Fleurier opens first Asian boutique in Tokyo’s Ginza
Parmigiani Fleurier Plants Flag in Tokyo's Luxury Heart
Parmigiani Fleurier new Tokyo store

Parmigiani Fleurier has launched its first Asian boutique in Tokyo's Ginza district, establishing a flagship presence on the coveted Chuo-dori avenue while the broader watch industry remains cautious about expansion.
Located at 7-chome Chuo-dori in Tokyo's luxury shopping quarter, the boutique demonstrates the Swiss manufacturer's dedication to the Japanese market through its partnership with Art Gear Capital K.K., a leading watch distributor in Japan.
The store's weathered facade interacts beautifully with surrounding reflections, creating visibility and vibrant presence among Ginza's most celebrated retail destinations. Swiss design studio Atelier OÏ crafted the interior layout to work with the avenue's characteristic tall architecture, maximizing every space for fluid movement and vertical flow.
The boutique features two floors serving different purposes. The ground floor welcomes customers into a warm, minimalist environment with light wooden furniture and plush seating that creates a tranquil atmosphere. The upper floor provides private areas where collectors and enthusiasts can explore new collections and exceptional timepieces with personalized service.
Interior elements harmonize perfectly with Japanese cultural values, offering an immersive experience enhanced by soft lighting reminiscent of dawn, touches of architectural greenery, and guilloché patterns that represent the brand's distinctive aesthetic.
The Ginza opening reflects the shared values of authenticity and excellence between Parmigiani Fleurier and a region renowned for appreciating horological craftsmanship. The timing demonstrates the brand's confidence in long-term growth within the Japanese luxury market.
This expansion strengthens Parmigiani Fleurier's Asian presence, establishing a foundation for deeper relationships with discerning Japanese collectors who treasure Swiss expertise and manufacturing heritage.
The boutique is now open at 7-chome Chuo-dori, Ginza, Tokyo.
