Looking to get away this Fourth of July? According to a new travel trends report from Going, the flight deal app, Chicago is the top trending destination for Independence Day weekend, and it’s easy to see why.

The Windy City puts on one of the country’s most spectacular fireworks displays, lighting up the sky over Navy Pier in downtown Chicago. But that’s just the beginning. This year’s holiday weekend also brings the third annual NASCAR Chicago Street Race Weekend and the Independence Day Salute, a free, family-friendly celebration featuring patriotic music, Broadway favorites, and audience singalongs. And when it’s time to unwind, Chicago’s lakefront beaches offer the perfect spot to soak up the summer vibes. Flights to Chicago are averaging around $502 roundtrip.

Coming in second is Denver, Colorado, where mountain towns just hours away host epic fireworks shows. Denver itself kicks things off early with Indy Eve, a free July 3rd celebration at Civic Center Park complete with live music and a choreographed fireworks display. Average flights are around $537 round trip.

And in a surprising third place? London. Yes, even across the pond, Americans are making plans to celebrate. London hosts niche Fourth of July events like American whiskey tastings with the North London Whisky Club and Independence Day guided walks at the Benjamin Franklin House, honoring the American Founding Fathers time in the city.

Nobu Atlantic City

I walked the Atlantic City boardwalk dozens of times last summer, yet completely missed the hidden Nobu Hotel inside Caesar's Atlantic City. Nobu Hotel Atlantic City, which opened in early 2024, is Atlantic City's hidden luxury gem. Situated within Caesar's Atlantic City, the Nobu Hotel occupies 85 rooms on the 42nd, 43rd, and 44th floors of the hotel. Having dined at the top-tier Nobu restaurant in my recent visit to Atlantis Bahamas, it's safe to say I was pretty excited for my first stay at a Nobu hotel. This boutique luxury experience almost feels like a secret and exclusive club, situated on the top three floors of the Centurion Tower. Decorated with neutral color schemes, modern touches, and subtle Japanese nuances, here's what it's like to stay at this concealed gem.
