The Celebrity Captain’s Club is a loyalty program designed to make every cruise experience even better with exclusive deals and perks.

So how does it work? Simple, the more you sail, the more you earn. Every cruise you take adds points to your account, and those points determine your membership level. Higher tiers mean even better perks, from discounts on destinations and onboard experiences to VIP access and personalized service. You can also boost your points by booking suites or taking longer sailings, helping you climb the ranks faster.

Captain’s Club tiers and benefits

The Celebrity Captain’s Club has multiple tiers, each offering increasingly valuable perks the more you cruise. As you accumulate points, you’ll unlock a range of benefits that make your cruise travels even more enjoyable. From priority boarding to complimentary drinks, the rewards keep getting better as you move up the ranks.

Each tier is designed to enhance your cruise and elevate your overall experience. These are the tiers you can navigate with Celebrity Cruises.

Preview tier (first-time cruisers)

When you first sign up for the program, you’ll be within the Preview tier. As a Preview member, you’ll enjoy complimentary access to the Captain’s Club loyalty desk service center as well as a Captain’s Club newsletter.

Classic tier (2-149 points)

After cruising at least once as a Captain’s Club loyalty member, you’ll become a Classic tier member. This will get you access to an exclusive Captain’s Club Welcome Event at the start of the cruise. Other perks include a 10% discount on any single Internet package, a 10% discount on any digital or print photo package at the Photo Gallery, access to an onboard Loyalty Host, and one complimentary scoop of gelato from the Gelateria.

Select tier (150-299 points)

As a Select member, you can enjoy all of the same benefits as a Classic member, plus discounted spa and laundry service.

Elite tier (300-749 points)

When you graduate to the Elite tier, you will gain access to complimentary laundry services, spa benefits, and a Captain’s Club cocktail hour. You’ll also enjoy complimentary access to the Persian Garden and one complimentary bag of laundry.

Elite Plus tier (750-2,999 points)

Elite Plus members get unlimited free drinks from the Captain’s Club menu each day (excluding embarkation day), between 5 and 7 p.m. at nearly every bar on the ship. Elite Plus members also gain access to the Captain’s Club Elite Continental Breakfast, giving you a quiet place to eat your breakfast every morning. For those sailing on a Solstice Class or Millennium Class ship, Elite Plus status also gives you free access to the Persian Garden spa zones.

The Elite Plus tier also provides you with an invitation to a senior officer party, an invitation to a Music & Mixology event, a 20% discount on a bottle of wine, a 30% discount on Wi-Fi packages, a 40% discount on a digital or print photo packages, discounts on specialty dining, two bags of complimentary laundry, and more.

Zenith tier (3,000+ points)

When you reach the height of the Captain’s Club, you’ll be in the Zenith tier. Being a part of this tier gives you access to The Retreat Lounge/Michael’s Club, a 25% discount on Specialty Dining cover charges, complimentary laundry, a complimentary Premium Drink Package, and Complimentary Premium Wi-Fi. Perhaps the most amazing benefit of this tier, however, is a complimentary 7-night Caribbean or Bermuda cruise upon reaching the Zenith tier.

How to earn points in the Captain’s Club

Earning points in the Celebrity Captain’s Club is a straightforward process, but the number of points you earn depends on the type of cabin you book. Here’s a breakdown of how the points stack up:

  • Inside Cabins: 2 points
  • Ocean View Cabins: 2 points
  • Veranda Cabins: 3 points
  • Infinite Veranda Cabins: 3 points
  • Concierge Class Cabins: 5 points
  • AquaClass Cabins: 5 points
  • Sky, Aqua Sky, Magic Carpet, and Sunset Sky Suites: 8 points
  • Celebrity, Signature, Horizon, and Royal Suites: 12 points
  • Reflection, Penthouse, and Edge Villas: 18 points
  • Iconic Suites: 24 points

As you can see, staying in a suite will earn you significantly more points than booking a less expensive regular cabin. The Celebrity Captain’s Club program is designed to reward those who spend more on luxurious accommodations, offering better rewards for those who choose the more premium cabins. So, if you want to rack up points faster, booking a suite is the way to go.

In addition to cabin points, there’s another exciting way to earn bonus points. In 2020, Celebrity introduced the Power Up Points program. This allows Captain’s Club members to earn extra points by filling out online surveys, participating on social media, or booking specific promotions. For every 10 Power Up Points earned, you’ll get one Club Point.

Next time you pack for a cruise, keep these point-earning opportunities in mind, and consider upgrading your cabin for maximum rewards.

Is Captain’s Club worth it?

It’s definitely worth it. If you’re a regular cruiser with Celebrity Cruises, the Celebrity Captain’s Club offers fantastic perks that make your experience even more rewarding.

If you’re also considering other rewards programs like Royal Caribbean, it really comes down to which one aligns best with your cruising style. Take a look at the rewards and see which program will offer you the most based on how often you cruise and what kinds of experiences you value most. Both Celebrity Cruises vs. Royal Caribbean have great programs, but the Celebrity Captain’s Club shines for those who prioritize premium perks and a more personalized experience.

In the end, if you’re loyal to Celebrity, the Captain’s Club is an easy choice. Join in, rack up the points, and enjoy all the rewards it has to offer.
