Sure, you’ll likely enjoy a classic Mint Julep while watching the 2025 Kentucky Derby in May. But after that, wouldn’t you like a bourbon-flavored ice cream to celebrate the finish of the “fastest two minutes in sports”? We know we would. Lucky for you (and us), Graeter’s Ice Cream is launching an ice cream in partnership with New Riff Distilling.

Graeter’s Ice Cream is America’s oldest family-owned and operated craft ice cream brand. To celebrate the 2025 Kentucky Derby, Graeter’s is collaborating with New Riff Distilling to launch Graeter’s Bourbon Ball Ice Cream. Inspired by the popular Kentucky confection, this new, limited-edition ice cream flavor combines bourbon-infused ice cream, whiskey-glazed pecans, and dark chocolate chips.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with New Riff Distilling to create a flavor that celebrates two iconic treats: Kentucky Bourbon and ice cream,” Richard Graeter, fourth-generation president and CEO at Graeter’s, said.

“Working with the team at New Riff to taste and select a special Single Barrel, our team has created the perfect fusion of our hand-crafted process and New Riff’s exceptional distilling, delivering a unique experience that honors the rich flavors of Kentucky.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with another local, family-owned business that shares our passion for craft and quality,” adds Mollie Lewis, president, New Riff.

“Graeter’s has been an incredible partner – not only do they make amazing ice cream, but the way they incorporated our Single Barrel Bourbon into this recipe blew us away. It’s the perfect blend of two great traditions, and we can’t wait for everyone to get a taste.”

An expert sets the record straight on bourbon’s biggest myths
It's time to learn the real deal about the worst bourbon myths
Whiskey in a glass

Bourbon might be America’s "native" spirit and one of the most common whiskey varieties you’ll find on the shelf at your local liquor retailer, but what do you really know about this popular spirit? I’ve been writing about alcohol for nearly 20 years. In that time, I’ve learned a lot of information about the various spirits, wines, and beers we drink on a regular basis. But few spirits have as many myths surrounding them as bourbon.

If you listen to your uninformed whiskey purist uncle, he might tell you a tale about what bourbon is, where it can be made, and why Jack Daniel’s absolutely is a bourbon. But is he actually right? Probably not (although we’ll get into the Jack Daniel’s debate a little later). Keep scrolling as I make an attempt at debunking bourbon myths that you may have heard and don't know if you should believe them. To help me out, I turned to Paul Hletko, Founder of FEW Spirits.

What’s most surprising about Starbucks’ new secret Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte
How (and why you should) order this variation
Starbucks Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte

If you follow Starbucks on social media, you might've caught the brand's post yesterday about how to order a new (secret) variation of the traditional Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte. I'll admit, I've never tried lavender coffee, nor did I have a deep urge to do so until I saw the Instagram post. I'm unsure if the bright purple for springtime or the curiosity around lavender coffee intrigued me to order this. Regardless, I'm glad I tried this drink because it doesn't taste anything like I thought it would. From the looks of this drink, I expected it to be super sweet and overpowering. Yet, after one sip, it's safe to say I'm hooked on the taste of lavender in coffee. The drink is light, smooth, and sweet enough without tasting like a whole dessert.

The Instagram post starts by ordering a Grande Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte. When ordered right off the menu, this drink is crafted with Starbucks blonde espresso roast, creamy oatmilk, ice, and infused with sweet and subtle floral notes of lavender. Despite heading to Starbucks several times over the last month, I'm ashamed to admit I've never tried this springtime favorite beverage.
