Celebrate Christmas With the Carlyle Punch

Celebrate Christmas with the Carlyle Punch! For those of you who don’t know, the Carlyle is an iconic Upper East Side hotel in New York. It became known as the New York White House during President John F. Kennedy’s administration and he was even rumored to have brought Marilyn Monroe there after she famously sung Happy Birthday to him. Mick Jagger even keeps a residence there. If you watched Bill Murray’s Netflix Christmas special, “A Very Murray Christmas,” it’s the beautiful hotel where the whole thing takes place. It’s one of the most glamorous spots in the entire city. So why not celebrate Christmas with a famous libation from one of New York’s most celebrated hotels?

Simply gather up Southern Comfort, raspberry vodka, cranberry juice, St. Germain, orange juice, bitters, and a few other things, and mix it all up in one giant punch bowl. Your holiday guests will be pleased, especially since they know they don’t have to travel all the way to New York to get a seat in Bemelmans Bar in the Carlyle, to have a sip of this famed holiday cocktail. All you have to do is head to your local liquor store, pick up Southern Comfort, raspberry vodka and St. Germain, then get everything else, and you can picture yourself in New York to celebrate the holidays. Whip up this delicious punch for easy Derby Day entertaining
Natterjack Irish Whiskey

If you're hosting friends for the Kentucky Derby tomorrow, then odds are you've already got your mint juleps planned out and ready to go. But if you haven't, no problem! We've got a punch recipe which you can quickly whip up before your guests arrive, then easily serve to please a crowd.

Whilst the iconic spirit for the day is bourbon, this recipe takes a different approach, swapping in Irish whiskey instead. If you haven't tried Irish whiskies before, these tend to be lighter and fruitier than their Scotch counterparts, making them ideal subs for bourbon. Throw in some vanilla liqueur with cherry and tangerine juice, plus a spicy and sparkling hit of ginger beer, and you've got a punch that's fit for the occasion -- now all you need to do is find an appropriately fancy outfit to wear.
