These high-performance dress socks will seriously up your style game

Since its inception in 2012, menswear brand Mack Weldon has sought to provide its customers with the best in men’s basics, with everything from stylish briefs to classic t-shirts to casual workout sweats.

Though they’ve always carried a line of colorful everyday socks, this spring, they launched their first formal iteration, the sleek 1285 dress sock.

“Our customers love our everyday socks, but would complain that they didn’t have anything to pair with more formal dress shoes,” starts Mack Weldon co-founder Michael Isaacman.

“That’s when we decided to develop the 1285 dress sock. Basically, we borrowed the DNA from our high-performance everyday socks and implemented it in a design that’s lighter and more refined.”

The DNA Isaacman refers to is a special blend of X-Static Silver, a naturally odor-preventing textile used by the likes of Olympic athletes and NASA, and lush Pima cotton. The fabric blend makes for a lightweight, high-performance sock that is ultra comfortable and retains freshness through several wears. Additionally, the finely-knit sock features a cushioned foot bed, which adds extra support.

The sock is available in six styles, three in dark-colored solids (black, navy, nomad blue) and three in bold stripes (black/charcoal, nomad blue/snorkel blue, charcoal/pink). Each pair of socks sells for $24.

“The 1285 dress sock is a great incremental item to fill up your top drawer with,” states Isaacman. “You look at your current socks, and I bet a majority of them are casual. There’s definitely an added bonus to having a sock that’s so fine, light and delicate.”

“Guys are going to grab this sock and fall in love with it,” he continues. “We’ve already seen them selling incredibly well on our website. At this rate, these socks are not going to be around very long.”

In fact, Isaacman predicts that they’ll run through their current stock of 1285 dress socks within the next few weeks with another roll-out not scheduled until the fall.

The Best Men’s Summer Socks To Slip Slip Your Toes Into
Sink Your Toes into the Best Summer Socks of 2019

The very last thing on your mind right now might be summer socks. After all, it's simply too hot to wear socks, and you'd rather be at the beach or the lake kicked back, sans socks, yes? That's a daily pipe dream for most of us, and back here in the real world, summer socks are still a necessity and an essential. The best pairs blend lightweight style and comfort with functionality for most every situation.

You've got your no-show socks, ideal for wearing with low-top sneakers or slip-on sneakers. You've got socks made to wear with hiking boots or sneaker boots, and even socks you can wear with chukka boots when things cool off just a little bit. The best part about all of this is the fact that the same brands you wear during fall and winter also make seasonally friendly socks at prices that won't break the bank.

Adidas and Mercedes-AMG F1 launch Silver Arrows fanwear collection before British Grand Prix
The Silver Arrow collection is on sale worldwide at select Adidas retailers and the Adidas website.
F1 drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli wearing Mercedes fan wear with a Mercedes-Benz W196 racecar.

Working with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team, Adidas launched the Silver Arrow pack, a collection of fanwear inspired by the Mercedes-Benz W196 race car. Current Mercedes F1 drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli posed with items from the Silver Arrow collection along with professional models.
Why celebrate the W196?

The W196 wasn't the first Silver Arrow. The first Mercedes to be called a Silver Arrow was the Mercedes W25, which debuted in 1934. However, driver Juan Fangio won the 1954 and 1955 F1 World Championships with the W196, which was among the several models referred to by the group name. The Adidas Silver Arrow collection celebrates the 70th anniversary of the W196's first F1 Championship season.
