Ball and Buck x New Balance

It only makes sense that two companies from ‘America’s Walking City’ would pair up to make one helluva good looking sneaker.

Boston based Ball and Buck, an all American company, proudly making everything Stateside or working with American businesses, partnered with fellow Bostonian, New Balance for a limited edition kick. The US 574 in mountain green with Ball and Buck’s proprietary camo in 10oz duck cloth and pops of orange on the heel and footbed is already causing fans to lick their chops. The first collection sold out in one minute.

We wanted to know more about their personal camo so we spoke to owner Mark Bollman who told us, “As an avid duck hunter I have always been around camouflage so when it was time to create a camo for Ball and Buck I knew exactly where to look.  With such a variety of different camouflage patterns over the years it was my goal to design a pattern that spoke to the heritage elements of Ball and Buck.”

He continued, “ We crafted a design based on the camo that was used during WWII and adapted it to the colors of the wetlands which are primarily browns.  Working with a local artist the design was created and I headed to Tennessee to work with the printing house to ensure the colors were just right.  After a full day at the printer we had the finished product that would be come a staple part of the Ball and Buck brand alongside the blaze hunter orange, antique brass, waxed cottons, and full grain leathers.”

If you do miss out on these kicks then you can always get the t-shirt, made in the USA of course.

In New Balance’s long history, the brand has become home to many iconic silhouettes, colors, and collaborative moments that are worthy of celebration. One of the most recent celebratory moments comes from music brand Roland, where the brand honors 45 years of its TR-808 Rhythm Composer and this year’s “808 Day.” For this momentous occasion, New Balance has partnered with Brazilian pro skater Tiago Lemos to relaunch the special edition Tiago Lemos 808 Lite x Roland sneaker. A sell-out design last year, the 808 Lite x Roland sneaker is a special model for the brand, as it celebrates the impact the 808 music machine has had on music and culture. In a combination that fuses music, skateboarding, and style, it’s no wonder that New Balance is at the forefront of the celebration.
