While many athletic brands have attempted to fuse modern style with performance technology, few have consistently delivered luxurious results like Salomon. Known for some of the most sought-after athletic shoes, the brand is continuing its path with a new release that’s equally fashionable and supportive. With the Speedcross 3 as the focus, the new Salomon sneaker is one of the brand’s most style-focused shoes. The design retains the Speedcross 3 footwear features but adds a unique colorway to the mix, making it one of the most elevated sneakers in its Sportsstyle lineup.

The new Salomon Speedcross 3 in “Dual Aura”

With its new “Dual Aura” version of the Speedcross 3, Salomon introduces an outward panel in black adorned with the brand’s zig-zag overlays. On the inner panels, cream white takes while identical monochromatic zig-zag overlays add a textural contrast. Bringing these two colors together is a subtle gradient that transitions the stealthy black into a moody grey, and then a rich cream hue. Small pops of color are found on the branding towards the top and back heel logos. In terms of technology, this “Dual Aura” sneaker stays true to the Speedcross 3 model. Sensifit technology and a quick lacing system are included for a comfortable and snug fit. Made for the brand’s “Year of the Snake” celebration, this subtle shift of gradience is a simple way of reinventing a favorite silhouette into a modern classic. The “Dual Aura” version is also available with Gore-Tex for more durability and protection. Available via the Salomon website, the sneaker retails for $160.

Known for their chunky performance sneakers, the brand has made waves with their oversized sneaker silhouettes that demand attention. In their latest release, the athletic brand continues down its path with a new Clifton model that's even more chunky than before. One of their most popular models, the Clifton, made its first impression on shoppers in 2014 and has continued to impress over the past decade. With this new release, the Clifton 10 offers upgraded features and a more maximalist silhouette. While far from the typical look of other sneakers, such as the adidas Samba, the new Clifton 10 has everything a runner needs.

With sleek accents and minimal design, this trail runner is far from the latest maximalist shoes released. Although the new shoe doesn’t offer any major changes to the silhouette, it’s still a worthy release for those who are faithful to the more traditional look and feel of the Salomon trail runner.
