May the Fourth come just once a year, but celebrating everything that Star Wars has given us shouldn’t be confined to a single day. You should feel free to rewatch your favorite Star Wars films whenever you want, especially since they’re so conveniently located on Disney+.

As fun as lounging and binge-watching is in and of itself, you might find that adding alcohol to the equation really spices things up. This is why movie drinking games are a great way to take any film you’ve already seen and add a whole new level of entertainment on top of it. With more than 10 different movies to choose from, we thought it best to create one list of Star Wars drinking game rules to rule them all.

Drinking games are perfect for Star Wars movies because, at least for me, they’re movies I’ve seen dozens of times. And while watching them over and over can be a rewarding experience in and of itself, I’m sometimes looking for a new way to make the movies interesting while still paying attention to them. Usually, by the time I get to the end of the original trilogy, I’m convinced at least one of the Ewoks is a close personal friend, but that’s part of the fun.

So whether you’re starting with the original trilogy or jumping ahead to The Force Awakens, here are some drinking guidelines to try to stick to throughout.

Note: While cheap beer is what we’d usually recommend you play with, we’ve also put together a wonderful list of Star Wars cocktails you can make at home.

The rules of the game are pretty straightforward, but feel free to play at your own pace. If you plan on watching more than one movie during this game, just remember: It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Not everyone can make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.

It’s also worth noting that while these rules can be played with any of the movies, you might find that the prequels, for example, cause you to drink a lot more than the original trilogy. Given their faster pace, you might want to be selective about which rules you abide by if you’re doing that trilogy in particular.

Action movies represent one of the most versatile genres in filmmaking. Sometimes an action movie will try to give commentary on society or craft a hero's journey from underdog to champion of the people. Other times action movies are just used as background noise, a junk food experience to pass the time.
