Tennis season in New York just got a stylish twist. The Plaza Hotel has teamed up with Lacoste to bring a playful, tennis-inspired spin to its famous Afternoon Tea at The Palm Court. It’s a limited-time experience that combines the elegance of the sport with Lacoste’s French flair, perfect for fans who want to toast the season in style.

Running from now until September 10, the menu is crafted by Executive Chef Muhannad Al Ateem and Executive Pastry Chef Kevin Clemenceau. Inspired by the brand-new Le Café Lacoste, the spread features delicious bites and refined desserts that celebrate French tradition while channeling the energy of the game.

Iconic desserts and one-of-a-kind teas

At the heart of the Tennis Inspired Afternoon Tea is Le Café Lacoste’s show-stopping dessert, Le Crocodile, a pistachio entremets that doubles as both centerpiece and conversation starter. Alongside it, guests can enjoy savory bites like The Court Side Cucumber and Le “Croc” Monsieur, Lacoste’s clever spin on the classic French Croque Monsieur. 

Sweet treats round out the experience with creations such as the Game. Set. Citrus. lemon cake and Earl Grey Tea Break Macarons, all presented on The Palm Court’s signature sterling silver three-tier stand.

To pair with the menu, guests can sip one-of-a-kind teas, bubbly Champagnes, and creative C(r)ocktails while soaking up the courtside atmosphere. Original vintage racquets invented by René Lacoste add a touch of heritage, the Palm Court’s stained-glass dome will glow in Lacoste green, and curated playlists set the scene for a summer celebration.

The Tennis Inspired Afternoon Tea is served daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Palm Court at The Plaza, located at 768 Fifth Avenue in New York City. Prices start at $145 per guest, and reservations are available via OpenTable, with advance booking strongly encouraged.
