Last week, American Airlines announced several new routes, from world-class skiing getaways to sunny, tropical beaches. The routes are part of the airline’s efforts to help travelers realize their travel dreams. Fares for the new routes go on sale June 30 on American’s mobile app or on aa.com

Mountain destinations and sun-drenched beaches

Headlining the new routes is service to Sun Valley, Idaho (SUN) from Phoenix (PHX) and Chicago (ORD). That’ll offer one-stop connections from more than 150 locations across the U.S., letting more people experience the world-class winter destination. Flights begin on December 18. Mountain-minded travelers can also try American’s new flight from Charlotte (CLT) to Aspen (ASE) and direct trips between Chicago (ORD) and Missoula, Montana (MSO).

Also debuting in December is service from Chicago (ORD) to Honolulu (HNL); DFW to Kona, Hawaii (KOA); LAX to Brisbane, Australia (BNE); and four flights daily between Miami (MIA) and Buenos Aires, Argentina (EZE). American will also begin service to Puerto Escondido, Mexico (PXM), and four new flights to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ). Lastly, for the holiday season, American will fly direct between Phoenix (PHX) and Fort Meyers, Florida (RSW).

Those looking to explore the Southwest can book American’s new routes to Santa Fe, New Mexico from Los Angeles (LAX) and Chicago (ORD). The airline is also adding a flight to its 17th Destination in California, Santa Maria (SMX). Service begins October 15 with two daily flights from Phoenix (PHX).

Jason Reisinger, American’s Managing Director of Global Network Planning, said: “American is focused on giving our customers the most options to pick the perfect vacation destination, and now there are even more ways to turn travel dreams into reality. Earning AAdvantage miles and status with American’s new summer routes is the perfect setup to planning winter holidays with friends and family.”
