The first modern Zenith Defy timepiece debuted at the Watches and Wonders 2024 event in April 2024, and due to its modern features, it generated a lot of hype.

This new watch is the real definition of ‘extreme’ modifications, just as the name suggests. For starters, it has a bezel characterized by smooth and angled cuts that accentuate the watch’s geometric design.

Apart from that, it is equipped with a 42.5 mm casing made from robust titanium for enhanced durability. Since this is a diver’s watch, it can go to deep depths of up to 600 meters. Most components on the watch, such as the helium valve and the front bezel, are designed to handle deep diving activities.

While the watch was designed for divers, it also has a stylish appearance that makes it suitable for day-to-day activities.

The white dial on the watch is accentuated by a sunray finish that reflects light stylishly. It is also worth noting that the sunray finish is complemented by Zenith’s star symbol, which gives the watch a signature-like kind of allure.

In terms of the overall performance, the Zenith Defy Extreme Diver is equipped with the El Primero 3620-SC movement, which offers a 60-hour power reserve.

This timepiece is available in three different strap options and retails at $11,300.

TAG Heuer becomes official timekeeper of TCS New York City Marathon
Swiss watchmaker brings precision timing to world's largest marathon
Tag Heuer marathon sponsor

TAG Heuer has been named the official timekeeper of the TCS New York City Marathon, bringing Swiss-made precision to one of the world's most iconic endurance events. The partnership positions the luxury watchmaker at the center of a race that welcomes over 50,000 runners from around the world annually.
The New York City Marathon has undergone remarkable transformation since its humble beginnings in 1970, when just 127 runners completed loops in Central Park for a one-dollar entry fee, competing for repurposed bowling trophies and inexpensive wristwatches. In 1976, the race expanded beyond the park into the streets, creating the current 26.2-mile journey across Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan.
TAG Heuer's timing technology will record and commemorate every participant's official race time, transforming each finish into a measurable milestone of personal victory. The integration extends beyond basic timekeeping, with every runner receiving their official time powered by TAG Heuer technology, along with branded finish-line images and shareable results available through the official marathon app.
"We are all measured by the moments that define us," said TAG Heuer CEO Antoine Pin. "The TCS New York City Marathon represents a moment of truth, resilience, and shared humanity. It is remarkable to witness a single event bring together so many individuals from all walks of life, united by the common drive to push their limits."
The partnership aligns with TAG Heuer's 2025 brand campaign "Designed to Win," unveiled at Watches and Wonders Geneva as a tribute to those who transform preparation into performance. Christine Burke, New York Road Runners Chief Commercial Officer, noted that every athlete embodies this mentality when they line up at the start.
Professional athletes will receive special recognition through TAG Heuer Connected watches awarded to winners of the elite field. These timepieces merge advanced sport-tracking features including GPS, heart rate monitoring, and VO₂ max estimations with refined luxury design, making them ideal tools for athletes pursuing excellence.
The collaboration extends beyond the flagship marathon to include the United Airlines NYC Half and Abbott Dash to the Finish Line 5K, reinforcing TAG Heuer's growing presence in endurance racing. This expansion demonstrates the brand's commitment to supporting both elite and amateur athletes across multiple distance categories.

Breitling teams with Erling Haaland for cosmic Meteorite Dial Chronomat
Manchester City striker collaborates with Swiss watchmaker on out-of-this-world timepiece collection
Breitling Unveils The Erling Haaland Signature Chronomat promo shot

Breitling has partnered with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland to create the Erling Haaland Signature Chronomat collection, featuring two limited-edition timepieces with meteorite dials that make each watch completely unique.
The collaboration includes the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 in stainless steel with platinum bezel, limited to 500 pieces, and the Chronomat B01 42 in 18k red gold, capped at 250 pieces. Both models showcase dials cut from the Muonionalusta meteorite, a 4.5 billion-year-old cosmic material that landed on Earth nearly one million years ago.
"I wanted something one of a kind," Haaland explained. "The Chronomat just clicked. It's clean, all metal or with a rubber strap - it lets you go bold with the dial. And the meteorite makes each one different. You're never going to see the same watch on someone else's wrist."
Breitling CEO Georges Kern added: "Erling plays like he's from another planet, so when we talked about materials, a meteorite dial was the perfect fit. It's a watch as powerful and singular as he is."
The meteorite material comes from fragments scattered across northern Sweden's glacial moraines. Each piece displays the distinctive Widmanstätten pattern, a naturally occurring crystalline structure formed during incredibly slow cooling in space's vacuum. This pattern of interlaced bands is visible to the naked eye and impossible to replicate artificially.
The GMT 40 features a meteorite dial in a stainless steel case with platinum bezel, accented by a red-gold GMT hand and Haaland's initials on the central seconds hand. The caseback is engraved "ONE OF 500" and "ERLING HAALAND 9" surrounding an engraving of Haaland in his signature goal-celebration pose.
Completing the collection is an ultra-exclusive "ONE OF 5" edition created for Haaland and his inner circle. Crafted in 18k red gold, it features the meteorite dial, transparent caseback revealing the Caliber 01 movement, and bespoke case-side engraving of his name and jersey number.
"Seeing this watch come to life was something else," Haaland noted. "The dial, the engravings, the initials - every detail told a part of my story. I'm excited for people to wear it and feel that same connection."
All models come in wooden presentation boxes with signed thank-you notes from Haaland, emphasizing the personal nature of this stellar collaboration between Swiss watchmaking excellence and football's rising star.
