If you’re planning a trip to Europe this summer, finding the perfect beach to relax and explore is probably high on your list. Telegraph Travel’s destination experts have done the hard work for you, compiling a list of 40 of Europe’s best beaches. Instead of ranking them from best to worst, they grouped the beaches by country, spotlighting standout shores across the continent.

Heading to Spain? Don’t miss Bolonia, Andalusia, a stunning beach famous for its vast sand dune. Climb the dune at sunset, and on a clear day, you can even see Morocco across the water.

If France is on your itinerary, Plage du Coz-Pors in Brittany is a top pick. This quiet beach is dotted with large rocks and offers kayak and paddleboard rentals, plus a handful of charming restaurants, all just an hour’s drive from the ferry port of Roscoff.

For Greece lovers, Xerocambos on Crete’s southeastern tip promises crystal-clear waters and fewer crowds, thanks to its remote location away from the island’s main tourist spots.

Even the Nordics, not usually famous for beaches, made the cut. Sweden’s Sandhammaren, a protected nature reserve in Österlen on the southeastern tip of Skåne province, offers unspoiled landscapes. Meanwhile, Denmark’s Blokhus Beach also earns praise for its wide shores and relaxed vibe.

London’s Twenty8 NoMad makes hotel dining feel cool again
This Hilton hotel restaurant might be London’s best-kept secret
Twenty8 Nomad

Hotel restaurants don’t exactly have the best rep. They’re often the place you end up, not the place you’re excited to go. Bland décor, overpriced Caesar salads, and a vibe that screams “conference break” more than “let’s make a night of it.” But every now and then, a hotel spot completely flips the script. Enter Twenty8 NoMad, the stylish restaurant tucked inside the equally chic NoMad London, a Hilton hotel nestled right across from the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.

I was in London on vacation when I decided to check it out, and let’s just say, I wasn’t prepared for how cool this place actually is. Located in the heart of the 91-room boutique hotel, Twenty8 NoMad brings a fresh, upscale twist to classic New York cuisine, served up in a space that feels more like a trendy Manhattan loft than your average hotel dining room.

Move over, Paris and New York City, Rome just took the crown as the world’s top food destination, according to Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Destinations. While Rome’s win may not be a huge surprise to food lovers, it’s notable that it beat out heavy hitters like Paris (which ranked fourth) and NYC (which came in 13th).

Rome offers a collage of bustling piazzas, amazing open-air markets, and incredible historic landmarks. And the city’s culinary scene is just as rich. According to the MICHELIN Guide 2025, Rome boasts no less than 18 starred restaurants.

Your suitcase could be a germ bomb

If you’ve ever hesitated to put your suitcase on a hotel bed, you might have good reason to be cautious. A recent study by InsureandGo reveals that your trusty travel bag could be a hotspot for harmful bacteria. The filthiest spot? The wheels, which harbor nearly 58 times more bacteria than a public toilet seat.

To uncover just how filthy our luggage gets on the go, a microbiologist swabbed both hard- and soft-shell suitcases at a busy airport train station. They tested two key spots on each bag, the wheels and the base, to see how much grime we might be dragging into our hotel rooms and homes.
