Menlook, A French Menswear Retailer, Turns Instagram Trend Into Stylish TV Advert

Despite the fact that more people than ever are cutting the cord and turning to the internet and social media for entertainment, there’s still something intriguing and irresistible about the idea of being on television. Sure, none of us wants to be on reality television. (Shudder.) But we wouldn’t say no to being in, say, a commercial. Perhaps for a fashion-forward retailer? Well now social media and television are coming together in a wonderful and unexpected way.

Well, leave it to the always stylish French to find a way to combine new media and old in a forward-thinking manner–and one that means you might one live your dream of seeing your work on television, too. Menlook, a French owned global online retail destination for menswear has launched the first TV ad made from Instagram photos taken by global influential Instagramers. Sacré Bleu!

The campaign draws inspiration from a popular Instagram trend: the #flatlay, which is a creative process that involves organizing a series of objects harmoniously on a flat surface and photographing them from above (haven’t you been pondering that hashtag for months?). We know, we know. The effort it takes to take a beautiful photo for Instagram is almost too much. But hey, we never said it was going to be easy to get on t.v.

Wondering who these global influencers are?

We linked to them right here just for you:

  • Romain Costa: His bio on Instagram simply reads: An architect on the Road. While his architectural renderings confuse us on his website, he certainly enjoys taking pictures of buildings and himself.
  • Kicks Kuwait: Tareq Q is a Kuwaiti menswear influencer. While most men in the Arab world wear traditional ‘Dish Dasha’s’, Tareq has always been a sneakerhead, he is merging East and West and schooling the world with his own well curated sneaker trends.
  • Will Taylor: This NYC based Interior Designer is a self described gent who is ‘Hooked on Hues’. His website, Bright Bazaar is a well known blog for color idea and inspiration. Clicking through is like coffee for the eyes.
  • Quyen Mike: Mike is a 21 year old freelance fashion photographer and Creative Director based in London. He is also a  Travel & Lifestyle blogger.
  • Filippo Cirulli: Milan’s most notorious male bloggers ( as they have been called), Cirulli is co-founder of The Three F, an Italian menswear fashion blog.

It’s always exciting to see social media evolve. Bravo Menlook! However, we will cringe if and when #selfies get involved.

While the Mostro has become the star of Puma’s recent releases, it’s been hard to classify the sneaker as anything but a statement design. Made to be seen, the Mostro’s often chunky silhouette is far from the slim look of its competitor, Adidas’ Samba sneaker. However, in its newest release, Puma has partnered up with JJJJound for a new minimalist look that delivers a subdued design to this iconic silhouette. JJJJound is no stranger to remixing iconic shoes, having done so in the past with other iconic brands like ASICS and New Balance. True to their brand, JJJJound has introduced a new minimalist look for the Mostro, making it a versatile option for Puma footwear fans.

After devastating wildfires that plagued the Los Angeles area in January 2025, it didn’t take long for brands to jump in on the action. These wildfires, which burned over 180,000 acres according to Cal Fire, brought massive destruction and fatalities to the areas of Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, and more. While the wildfires are long gone, residents of these locations are still reeling to get back on their feet.

In response to the devastation, Oliver Peoples has collaborated with contemporary artist Alex Israel on a special edition of the brand’s Oliver Sun frames. To help aid victims, 100% of sales will be donated to the Steadfast LA Foundation’s Modular Housing Initiative, which is currently assisting underinsured residents in getting back on track in their communities. With an accompanying campaign featuring Miranda Kerr, DJ Diplo, and Eric Nam, this project highlights what makes Los Angeles a home to these artists.
