What to Wear: Snow Day

Brrrrrrr…if you’re on the East Coast right now you’ve probably just experienced several inches of snow and below freezing temperatures. Don’t let that snow day get in the way of your daily routine! Although most of us will probably be sticking indoors if we can help it, those of you who need to go outdoors just need to dress correctly. Pile on the layers! Make sure to wear long underwear like Uniqlo Heattech of Under Armour, then put on a thick shirt and pants — flannel and corduroy will do. Don’t forget to put on warm wools socks, insulated boots and warm parka. Most important of all, have all your accessories ready to go! A warm hat, gloves and scarf can mean all the difference between staying warm and freezing. If all else fails, you can always go for one of those self-heating hand warmers.

Those things have drawn visitors from all over to visit the country for centuries and it is still strong today. As one of the most popular destinations in the world, there is a good chance you are thinking of going. But what to wear in Italy for guys is a question many of us ask over and over. All we know is we don't want to be the American dad in jorts and New Balance. So, what do you wear in Italy? Here is our take.
Dressing in Italy

When you think of fashion meccas, there is Paris, Milan, London, and New York that jump into most people's minds (at least here in America -- there are dozens of fashion centers around the world that will pop into minds globally). Italy is known for its attention to detail and its fashion industry, thanks to Milan Fashion Week, which tells all of us what high fashion we should emulate year in and year out. Before we get into what you should take with you and what you should wear in each season, let's first go over a few tips to keep you on the right track.

Look great without stealing the groom's thunder
Group of people sitting around a table in an outdoor space

The rehearsal dinner may seem like a casual thing to attend the day before your friend, brother, etc.'s big day. But there is a lot more that goes into this day. It's the first time they will see what kind of wedding guest you will be. Are you the guy who will show up and ruin the day of photos? Are you the guy about to stand out, not in a good way? Your behavior is also being scrutinized.

We all have that one friend we love, as long as he's nowhere near our family. You don't want to be the embarrassing guy everyone worries about who made your friends decide against the open bar. The behavior we can't help with, maybe see a counselor. But the rehearsal dinner attire is where we can help. We can help you make a great first impression so they may feel they don't need to worry about you. It gives you a little more leeway to act a fool, in any case.

Picture this: You walk out to your mailbox (an inexplicable venture in the year 2024, and yet, our habits are our habits), and you find something addressed to you in a small envelope. Inside, you find a "Save the Date" from a friend. Maybe you have seen them recently, maybe not, but either way, you now have a wedding to attend.

You aren't a big fan of weddings. Receptions, absolutely. But the wedding part can't get over fast enough. Besides, what to wear to a wedding is the next thing you'll have to figure out.
