While sandal season is coming to an end, famed flip-flop brand Havaianas isn’t slowing down. Instead, the Brazilian-founded brand is gearing up to make a profound shift in its history. Although many know Havaianas for its colorful and statement flip-flop options, the brand’s newest collaboration takes on a new dimension. Along with experimental footwear brand Zellerfeld, Havaianas is preparing to create a limited-edition 3D-printed flip-flop, one of the first of its kind. As part of the growing trend of utilizing 3D printing for footwear, previously seen from brands like Adidas, Havaianas is joining the fun with their version. While the 3D design isn’t set to be released until later this year, images of the flip-flops have given fans a preview of what they can expect from this one-of-a-kind release.
Havaianas and Zellerfeld go 3D with their newest flip-flop release

For this bold new collaboration, Havaianas and Zellerfeld are letting the technology do all the talking. Taking on a similar silhouette to traditional Havaiana flip-flops, the 3D design is just slightly different in texture and look to mark its difference. Featuring an intricate, open-lattice design, the flip-flop is 3D printed as a single unit from heel to toe. With a curved forefoot, the flip-flop includes an additional structure that gives the design a more futuristic and contemporary look. While unknown exactly how many colorways the flip-flop will be offered in, first glimpses see a variety of bold hues, paying an homage to Havaianas’ statement branding. Expected to be a must-have item due to its uniqueness and rarity, this collaborative flip-flop is set to sell out quickly after its release. The flip-flop is scheduled to hit shelves in September for an unknown retail price.
