Spy and Discrete Just Released the Season’s Best Goggles

Ski goggles need to do three things. First, You’ve got to be able to see. Second, they can’t fog up. Third, they need to make you look like a pro, even if you’re skiing the bunny slopes with your kids.

SPY Optics and Discrete just released a collaboration on the Spy Bravo Goggles ($230) that will have you looking, and skiing your best all season long.

The secret to the best goggles is having a lens that performs in all conditions. We first tried out SPY’s Happy Lenses earlier this year with a pair of their Rover Sunglasses. In a word, Happy Lenses are flawless. They work by blocking certain wavelengths of light. By doing that, they increase clarity and decrease glare.

There are a few studies that even show by blocking these “bad” rays, they’re letting in a different spectrum that can be mood enhancing – effectively making you happy. We don’t know if it’s the light or just being able to see in the mountains better (leading undoubtedly to more epic powder shots), but the Happy Lenses on the Bravo Goggles are the real deal.

The Discrete version of the Bravos comes with two interchangeable lenses (and almost two dozen replacement options), a bronze with blue mirror for bright days, and a translucent red for low light conditions. Swapping out lenses is as easy as pushing a button. SPY’s Lock Steady system holds the lens to the frame tightly, but is easy to operate with one hand, and with gloves on, helping you keep those precious lenses smudge free.

The goggle strap is lined with a silicon gripper so your goggles will stay firmly in place on you helmet. Discrete’s patterning on the strap is sure to turn heads whether you’re spinning laps in the park or on the search for your secret pow stash. The fit is excellent – three layers of variable density foam conform to the shape of your face, and allow the goggle to vent extremely well. The frame has been maximized to fit with helmets, so you needn’t worry about the dreaded gaper gap.

Juiced Bikes recently introduced the JetCurrent Pro, a folding e-bike that pushes the category's traditional standards to near moped level. The JetCurrent Pro isn't the most powerful or fastest e-bike you can buy. It doesn't look terribly different from other folding e-bikes, either. However, with the JetCurrent Pro's powertrain and its inclusive list of standard equipment, it's a short leap of imagination to wonder if Juiced Bikes' founder, Tora Harris, is considering a street-legal form of EV transportation that goes beyond the usual e-bike limitations.
Why the Juiced Bikes JetCurrent Pro matters

Harris, a former Olympic high jump athlete and Princeton University-educated engineer founded Juiced Bikes in 2009. Juiced Bikes is one of the earliest U.S. e-bike companies. Rad Power Bikes, another U.S. e-bike pioneer, eschewed e-bikes that exceeded the Class 2 20 mph limit until recently. In contrast, Juiced has consistently stressed high performance, with e-bikes that exceed the Class 3 28-mph limit in off-road mode.
