Authentic Adventure: Snow Peak

Warm summer nights call for a better adventure than your typical weekend dive bar. You’ve had the last few months to wallow in the depths of the Polar Vortex and a wet, cold spring, so you you deserve some extra time out under the stars enjoying a summit beer or campfire meal. Our friends at Snow Peak have you covered for everything from a short afternoon trek, to an extended expedition above the treeline. Their performance line of apparel, camping cookware and cutlery is the answer for the discerning adventurer.

Geoshield Stove
The Geoshield stove is Snow Peak’s solution for all weather cooking at any altitude. The burner and fuel canister are connected by a remote line, allowing you to turn the fuel upside down in extreme cold for added heat and efficiency. We especially like the included wind screen; it can be inverted to support larger pots when cooking for a group. Ours has pulled duty everywhere from desert camp outs to summit ridge bivouacs this spring, and has proved indispensable. It is easily the most versatile stove we’ve tested in years.

Spring Apparel Collection
Snow Peak has only been producing apparel for the US market for a few seasons, but their small (and ever growing) line up performs as well as any rugged backcountry brand – and looks better while out competing them. Our favorite this spring is the Flexible Insulated Shirt, which features Polartec’s innovative Alpha insulation. Paired with their urban or trail ready Field Jacket and 3-Layer Rain Pants, you’ve got an ensemble ready to tackle any stormy campground in the Pacific Northwest.

Campground Gear
When you can’t settle for less than the best, Snow Peak’s tents, camping furniture and cookware are unparalleled in both styling and function. The Low Beach Chair has been a constant car-camping staple for months, and ours shows no signs of wear. The Hexa tarps are the perfect shelter from sun and rain while cooking a backcountry feast. These comforts pale in comparison to the line up of titanium cookware – trust us, if you get one thing, order the french press for your next pot of campfire coffee.

The 4 Best Snow Blowers for 2022
best snow blowers to buy clearing the driveway

There are few things more magical than waking up to newly fallen snow on a cold winter's morning. But all that enchanting snow loses its appeal when it comes to actually dealing with it; namely, shoveling snow off your driveway, sidewalks, and steps so you can safely drive in snow and get into and out of your own house. If you grew up in an area where it snowed frequently, you likely had to help shovel each time it snowed. But now, as adults, there are some easier options you can utilize that don’t take as long and aren’t as physically taxing. Luckily, snow removal isn't as exhausting as before since there are already available snow blowers in the market that will save you both time and energy (and make you the envy of your shoveling neighbors). However, there are many different factors to consider in choosing a snow blower: how much snow does your area usually get? Do you need to clear a large or small amount of snow? What about gas-powered versus electric models? Taking all these factors into consideration, these are the four best snow blowers to buy for future winters.
