There are so many different streamers with fascinating and fun content that it can sometimes be hard to choose. Netflix is still arguably the best streaming service available to TV fans due to its combination of original shows and movies, accompanied by legendary favorites from the past. When you consider nostalgia and current tastes, Netflix probably has you covered. Of course, every streaming platform needs to refresh its content to keep us satisfied — this is what will be new on Netflix in the coming weeks.
The Tutor (2023)
Everyone loves a good summer thriller, right? The Tutor stars Garrett Hedlund as the academic advisor hired to help a rich kid with his schoolwork at his family’s mansion. The real scene-stealer is Stranger Things’ Noah Schnapp, who plays the mysterious and troubled youth receiving help from Hedlund’s character. This film is full of the usual twists and turns of the genre, perfect for a quick binge on July 8.
White House Down (2013)
Channing Tatum plays a Secret Service agent who has to protect the President of the United States (Jamie Foxx) when the White House comes under siege by a group of antagonistic outsiders. This was one of the better political thrillers of the early 2010s, and it also came at a time when Tatum was one of the Hollywood A-listers everyone wanted to see. It holds up well in 2023 and will be appearing on Netflix starting on July 1.
Quarterback (2023)
The one area where streaming services take a backseat to cable providers is live sports (though that is rapidly changing). Quarterback isn’t exactly live sports, but it is a docu-series focusing on a few QBs of the 2022 NFL season: Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota. The show will give access to on-the-field sights and sounds from the players, who all were generous with their time and willingness to give a peak into their careers in new ways. The show will premiere on July 12, right before NFL training camp picks up.
The Witcher (2019)
The Witcher is about to enter a state of change when Henry Cavill leaves and Liam Hemsworth takes over as the heroic Geralt. This final set of episodes with Cavill is sure to impress with the same set of monsters and grandeur the video game adaptation has become known for. The second volume of season three will premiere on July 27.
BASTARD‼ -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- (2022)
While Hulu is known for having a lot of anime on their service, Netflix also has its fair share of Japanese animation. BASTARD!! – Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy returns with more sinister fun, witchcraft, and fantastical elements for fans of the first season to enjoy. This new batch of episodes will come out on the last day of the month, July 31.
