Clothing for the Modern Adventurer by 18 Waits

Born out of a lust for life and Tom Waits, 18 Waits create the ideal clothing for rambling around the woods that surround your secret lakeside cabin with your really hot girlfriend who you’re madly in love with. If your life happens to resemble the guy’s in the spring/summer 13 collection film, that is.

Either way, 18 Waits latest collection is truly awesome. By blending subtle sartorial details with classical prints, wearable silhouettes and fabrics that appear lovingly laundered, the brand has created clothing for the modern, albeit urban adventurer.

Key pieces include the button-down Pulley shirt, the brand’s take on the classic popover, and the Bellwoods Blazer, the perfect solution to that difficult summer wedding wardrobe brief.

The brand rates quality very highly. Consequently, fabrics are sourced from Japan and each piece is lovingly created in Toronto, where the label was founded in 2008 by Daniel Torjman. Scanning the brand’s blog to find a snapshot of Torjman emerging from a small batch of hand-customised t-shirts captures the 18 Waits ethos perfectly. This is quality clothing that is made to be worn again and again…the rambling part is totally optional but highly recommended.

Crocs upgrades its traditional clog with luxurious new details

Although it might be hard to equate a Crocs clog with luxury footwear, the brand has slowly worked to upgrade its lineup to appear much more elevated. With recent collaborations with brands like Barbour, the Crocs brand has added sophisticated details to its products that make them seem much more luxurious. Now, the brand is taking matters in-house with a new release that takes the Classic Clog and turns it into a winter-ready luxury slipper you can wear outside. While the latest release utilizes the traditional and signature clog silhouette from Crocs, subtle upgrades have elevated the design into a slipper that works for almost any cold-weather environment. Just in time for the start of the colder months, these lined Crocs bring an elevated style that many aren’t used to seeing from Crocs until now.
