Worn Out Wednesday – Wolfgang Novogratz

Today we speak to basketball player, model and actor, Wolfgang Novogratz.

The oldest of 7, Wolfgang Novogratz was born and raised in New York City by designers, Robert and Cortney Novogratz. Wolfgang and his family recently moved to Los Angeles, where he currently resides. Although technically an LA resident – Wolfgang is a New Yorker at heart, which is where most of his style emanates. Growing up in downtown Manhattan, Wolfgang’s style is a mix of street style and his love of classic movies. Some of his style icons include Warren Beatty and Robert Redford.

In addition to his love for fashion, Wolfgang has been playing competitive basketball since he was 7 years old. He started on the varsity team as an 8th grader, as well as running point on his AAU team, which later won a National AAU Title. He is currently an 18-year-old senior at Harvard Westlake, where he is ranked one of the top point guards in the country. He is also a model and actor – he recently wrapped production on his first short film and will be co-starring with his family in a new series out this spring and the Novogratz People.com series “The Castle Next Door – The Novogratz Family Takes Hollywood,” launched this morning so check it out here

As for his personal style:

Jeans: Have to be my Levis 501s.

Shirts: You can’t go wrong with a white Calvin Klein t-shirt or a nice vintage t-shirt from the Melrose Flea Market. As far as dress shirts go, I like Comme des Garcons.

Pants: Prada.

Suits: My dad has great taste, so I “borrow” his Yohji Yamamoto Suits when the occasion arises.

Shoes: I am into shoes. On the court, I love Kobe’s. Off the court and around town, I rock Rick Owens, Vans, Chuck Taylors, Stan Smith and Adidas.

Accessories: I love UNDRCRWN knit hats and a good baseball cap.

Outerwear: I don’t really do parkas or trenches in LA, but when it comes to jackets, it has to be Gucci, Fred Perry or Top Man.

Favorite Cologne: Ivory Soap.

Your favorite App: Uber.

Favorite piece of technology: My iPhone.

Next tech purchase: iPhone 7.

We're living in a world of ever-evolving technology. While we look at trends from the past and see that we're pulling from yesterday to curate a stylish aesthetic, there's no doubt that technology propels us forward. However, artificial intelligence is still surging forward and changing the way nearly every industry does business. Huckberry jacket

We were never meant to drive a desk. We were never designed to spend our days in a cubicle. We were designed to live under the sky with the sun and the stars able to stare down on us. We have long since forged a world of comfort, with customs of living indoors, safe from the dangerous sun and the deadly predators that roam at night. And ever since we forged that world, we've started to lose our connection to the great outdoors. That is why Huckberry is one of the most important brands for a man looking to reconnect with and recapture the spirit of our ancestors. But combining explorer's wear with fashion wasn't enough for Huckberry, they also want to send you on the adventure of a lifetime. They just wrapped up the fifth edition of the Huckberry Explorer's Grant, sending "John B. from North Carolina" on one of five life-changing adventures.
