These days, it seems like if you don’t own, aren’t building, or aren’t actively booking yourself a week-long vacation in a cozy A-frame cabin in the woods, you are missing out on both the joy of the outdoors and the pleasure of this niche architectural style.

Thankfully, Everywhere Travel Co., a builder of tiny homes, has unveiled its plan to sell the architectural plans to its new Ayfraym A-Frame cabin so you can take building your cabin in the woods (or on the mountain, or by a lake) into your own hands.

Everywhere Travel Co. describes the Ayfraym as a cabin with “three large walkout cedar decks, large custom windows, [and] vaulted ceilings with rustic-modern wood beams. It includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of those bedrooms is a unique bunk room that includes four bunk spaces for comfortable sleeping. An upper loft with lookout windows at the very top of the cabin is a fun way to escape and get cozy with your favorite book.”

This sounds like our idea of a dream lakehouse, mountain cabin, or general country getaway.

To be clear: These are just the plans for the cabin. Sorry, but there’s no chance in hell that you’d ever be able to buy or build an A-frame of 1,574 square feet for the $1,950 it costs to buy these plans. However, once you purchase the plans, you’re more than welcome to hire your own contractor, engineer, electricians, plumbers, etc. to get started on your build right away. If you’d rather have Everywhere Co. handle it, they can do that, too. And, if you’d rather Everywhere provide you with your building materials and just go it alone, that’s also a possibility. Ballsy.

Once you purchase your plans, Everywhere Co. will send you an immediately available PDF of the architectural renderings and schematics, followed by a shipment that includes printed construction plans, reading materials, a doorknob (to get an idea of the sense of style), a hammer, a hat, and a mug.

Basically, Everywhere Co. wants to make it as easy as possible for you.

Totals costs are estimated to be between $252,000 and $277,000, depending on location and materials.

The quaint village of Brande, Denmark, is about to get a big upgrade. The town of 7,000 will become home to Western Europe’s tallest tower when fashion brand Bestseller completes its new headquarters in 2023.

Looking at the concept drawings for the headquarters, which is being dubbed Bestseller Tower and Village, the central building sticks out like a sore thumb among the flat fields that surround it. At 1,049-feet tall, it will be visible from 37 miles away. The outside world is having mixed reactions, with Danish spoof paper RokokoPosten going so far as to compare it to Barad-dûr (Sauron's looming tower capped by a flaming eye in The Lord of the Rings trilogy). But the people of Brande couldn’t be happier to see their hometown company bringing so many eyes to their neck of the woods.

They're better classified as a Maduro shade or darker cigar. That doesn't mean you should avoid them, quite the contrary.
