Emerge from the Masses, Shop The Cools

In a world where almost every brand has a digital marketplace and flash sale sites flood our inboxes daily, shopping online has become more stressful then hopping between brick and mortar stores on a rainy day. But a flood of emerging, curated online boutiques in the past year has acted as a refresher on what we first loved about the digital space. There are dozens of these shops in our peripheral, but none spark style inspiration quite like The Cools.

What launched as a members-only website in June 2012 opened to the public last month, giving everyone access to shop the store’s 300 leading fashion, lifestyle and design lines. With a combined 100 years of experience in these creative industries, The Cools team personally curates brands based on craftsmanship and creativity. But the interactive nature of the space makes it more than just a shopping site. Not only are featured brands able to curate their own stores by posting content like photos, videos, news and inspiration, members have the option to customize their profiles and engage with The Cools community by adding products they love, posting inspiration and following tastemakers who influence their style.

And though we’re all about ditching big brands and supporting the little guys, The Cools founder and CEO Olivier van Themsche further puts things into perspective. “If you’re a mass market brand, you can sell directly to the consumers on platforms like Amazon or eBay,” Olivier says. “But when you’re a leading brand not on the mass market scale, you can’t sell on these marketplaces. The Cools is the first marketplace where a curated selection of brands can sell directly to the consumer. Brands only pay a 12% commission of their retail sales, which disrupts the current wholesale model, and they make 4 to 6 times more profit. The Cools is simply the next generation of eshops.”

And with brands we love like Public School, Hentsch Man and Krane, it will be difficult to shop anywhere else. Get addicted at thecools.com.

With summer just around the corner, a yellow watch is the perfect accessory to brighten up your look, whether you're taking a stroll along the Italian Riviera or lounging at home with steaks on the grill. These citrus-hued watches, from the TAG Heuer Formula 1 to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver, stand out as a ray of sunshine amid the gloom of rainy spring days, making us dream of the warm breeze and blooming flowers in summer.

Yellow watches come in a hue that commands attention, that's for sure, which is why you see them on road signs and neon highlighters at school. With its inherent ability to captivate, either as a matte yellow or a more lustrous gold, the presence of a yellow dial on your watch will certainly draw attention.

Ditch the fall and winter colors for the spring
Man in linen jacket and shirt

Now that spring is here, your wardrobe could use a bit of an update in the color department. While the fall and winter seasons have a bevy of jewel tones and earth tones to keep you nice and cozy, the spring and summer is built for light and fun colors that keep your mood as light as the hues. Spring colors are some of the brightest and lightest on the color wheel, including pastels and lighter tones of your reds, greens, blues, and purples.

When putting together spring colors for men, there are some great options to ensure your looks are always top-notch. One of our favorite resources is Max Israel of Y. Chroma. His entire system is built for ease of color use, and while you may feel a little initial unpleasantness getting outside your comfort zone, adopting these five color combinations will ease you into some more fun palettes and get your wardrobe to the point of being the talk of the town.
