Menswear Brand Slate And Stone Debuts Their Summer Collection With An Exclusive Giveaway

New York-based menswear brand Slate and Stone has launched their Spring/Summer 2016 collection, with offerings that seamlessly meld the brand’s East coast roots with the breezy ease of California.

Slate and Stone, which got its start in 2012, has always endeavored to create quality clothing for the “everyday” man, in styles that are well-fitted, transitional and timeless, and their most recent Spring/Summer collection is no exception.

In addition to a vast array of linen button-down shirts, T-shirts, light sweaters and shorts, the brand is also debuting a line of swimwear, for the first time in the their history.

“For years, men’s swimwear consisted almost solely of baggy board shorts, which not only came in dark colors, but didn’t fit very well,” starts Creative Director Jeffrey Jacobs.

“But now,” he continues, “men not only care more about what they’re wearing to the office or on dates, but also about what they’re wearing while they swim. They want swim trunks that are playful and fun, but also look good.”

To satisfy this need, Slate and Stone is offering a collection of swim trunks that come in ten unique iterations. There’s a healthy mix of patterns (including floral and geometric prints, as well as a special “firework” print) and solid color options (in shades of light blue and coral). The trunks have a relaxed fit, but hit just above the knee, which makes for a look that is mature and streamlined.

“The whole line, which includes the swimwear as well as the collection of linen tops and bottoms, was inspired by the romance of the weekend getaway,” says Jacobs.

“I drew upon experiences in Montauk and the Hamptons, as well as on a love for the laidback style of Venice Beach to achieve this vision.”

And as a special offering for our Manual readers, Slate and Stone is offering a giveaway of some incredible products with a total worth of $600, including the Derek Linen Bomber Jacket, the Quentin Pique Crew Neck Pullover, the Stuart Linen V Neck Tee and the Cooper Linen Short.

The pre-owned luxury watch market is down, but prices for these 2 Rolexes are up
Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi

According to the Bloomberg Subdial Watch Index, which tracks the 50 most traded luxury watches, the pre-owned luxury watch market moved down around 0.1% last month, marking the sign of a patient market that wants more. This isn't necessarily surprising —the index has fallen 8.7% in the past year. But there are a couple of Rolex watches that are bucking the trend: the Rolex Starbucks and the Rolex Pepsi, which gained 3.2% and 3.3%, respectively.

The overall stagnation of the watch market can have various factors, including anticipation for newer releases. External factors like economic and geopolitical conflicts have also affected the way consumers choose to purchase watches. Prices soared during the pandemic, so a leveling out at some point was expected.
What are the ‘Starbucks’ and ‘Pepsi’ watches from Rolex?
