White Men Can't Jump (2023)

White Men Can't Jump
101m
Genre Comedy, Drama
Stars Jack Harlow, Sinqua Walls, Laura Harrier
Directed by Calmatic

Reboots seem to be all the rage in entertainment now, and sometimes that isn’t a bad thing. White Men Can’t Jump is one of the classic sports movies of the 1990s, and Jack Harlow and Sinqua Walls are ready to recreate the famous street hoopers played by Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes. We’re hoping these actors are able to honor the legacy of the original duo while also adding their own creativity to the roles. Basketball is also perfectly in-season right now with the NBA Playoffs! The movie is set to premiere on May 19, 2023.

No list of must-see TV or film would be complete without a documentary. Hulu’s biggest addition in this category during May is The Secrets of Hillsong. The documentary series will cover the corruption and immorality within the megachurch of Hillsong, a church originally from Australia but also with a large location in Manhattan. The series will premiere on May 19, 2023.

tv-ma 5 Seasons
Genre Crime, Drama
Cast J. D. Pardo, Clayton Cardenas, Edward James Olmos

Sons of Anarchy was one of the classic antihero dramas of the 2000s, and now Mayans M.C. has served as a solid spinoff for those who just can’t get enough of the motorcyclists from Kurt Sutter’s universe. This is the final season of Mayans M.C., — therefore, expect much of the same explosive climactic moments that happened in the parent show’s final season. The fifth season is set to premiere on May 24, 2023.

Penny Dreadful scene

Having a vast library of good television shows and films is the most important factor in the success of a streaming service. That's part of what transformed Netflix into a global phenomenon, and it's why services like Paramount Plus have worked hard to build a healthy library of series that subscribers can browse through. As is the case with all streaming services, Paramount Plus has a mix of original series that live only on the platform and older shows that were originally on broadcast and have now found a home on streaming.
Although these shows have varied histories, each one of them is a great staple in Paramount Plus's overall streaming library. Paramount Plus will likely continue to develop original content, but these Paramount Plus shows will stand the test of time, whether they're ongoing or have been over for a decade or longer.

Apple TV+ has an impressive library that includes great movies and shows
Austin Butler in Masters of the Air.

When computer company Apple announced that it was getting into the streaming TV game, there were plenty of people who were skeptical about the company's ability to pull it off. Why would the tech giant, which is most known for the Macintosh and the iPhone, have any credibility in making television shows? It doesn't seem the two ideas would mesh in any meaningful way, but in the years since Apple TV Plus launched, the company has come up with some pretty impressive original shows, and it picked up a Best Picture Oscar on top of that.
What's even more impressive is that these Apple TV shows and movies run the gamut from comedy to drama, and are all set in wildly different and imaginative places. Apple may be best known for making great phones, but it turns out it knows how to tell pretty interesting stories, too. These Apple TV movies and shows are the cream of the crop and the best on this streaming service.
