Road Trip like a Boss in a Cricket Trailer

I don’t care who you are – we’ve all had those daydreams of selling all our belongings, buying an old RV or teardrop trailer, and roadtripping across the country. It’s definitely a tempting idea, but before you hit up craigslist in search of a busted-ass Winnebago, we highly recommend you check out Cricket.

Unlike the living-room-on-wheels lineup we’re used to seeing on the road, Cricket trailers have been designed from the ground up to be compact, efficient, and low-maintenance. For starters, the exterior of each trailer is built from precision-engineered materials that reduce the overall tow weight, meaning you don’t need to own a beefy, gas-guzzling Ford F250 just to pull one around. Thanks to their lightweight aluminum composite construction and aerodynamic shape, Cricket trailers can easily be towed behind most four-cylinder vehicles, yet are just as spacious, durable, and warm as any other trailer (if not more so)

Just like the exterior, the interior space of the trailer has been creatively designed with an emphasis on minimalism and versatility. The guy who founded the company, Garrett Finney, is an ex-NASA employee who helped design the habitation modules (NASA-speak for the place where astronauts eat, sleep, bathe, and relax) in the International Space Station, so he knows a thing or two about maximizing the utility of small spaces.

The most basic model Cricket trailer will put you back about $16,750, and can go a couple grand higher if you spring for extra bells and whistles like refrigerators, roof racks, or a kitchen sink. Find out more here.

Road trip

Hitting the open road can make you feel free. No TSA lines, no baggage fees, no strict itineraries -- just you, your car, and the endless possibilities ahead. But as romantic as it sounds, a great road trip doesn’t just happen. It takes planning, just enough to keep things smooth, but not so much that it kills the spontaneity. I’ve taken everything from weekend getaways to two-week-long cross-country marathons, and I’m ready to share what I’ve learned along the way to help you plan road trips that feel both organized and adventurous. So, here’s how to plan a road trip that you’ll never forget.

Dystopian TV at its best: 8 must-see shows like The Handmaid’s Tale
These shows will make you think about the world in a new way
Elisabeth Moss in The Handmaid's Tale

If you're like me, you might have been taken by surprise to find out that one of Hulu's biggest original hits of the last decade was finally coming to a close this spring. The Handmaid's Tale dominated dystopian television discourse in the mid-to-late 2010s. It proved Hulu's worth in the streaming space and adapted Margaret Atwood's novel for a new generation of fans. While the first season was award-winning and fawned over by audiences worldwide, further seasons saw a decline in pop culture relevance.

What started out as a brilliant take on the consequences of women being forced to manipulate their bodies for the United States government teetered on repetitive as the characters maneuvered the same plot lines, and the themes bordered on stale. The final season just came to a close, and most people were happy with the sixth season and its finale. If you're already missing it and want other contemplative, post-apocalyptic shows, these are the shows like The Handmaid's Tale to watch next.
