What new bourbon are we pumped about? Which hiking trail are we exploring? Why is the next supercar so cool? The Manual is dedicated to helping men live a more engaged life. Each week, our editors and guests get together for a round-table discussion about what’s new, exciting, and unique in the men’s lifestyle world. So pop open your favorite brew, step into your man cave, and start streaming.

Machado gives us an idea of what design trends we can look forward to in 2019 and how to implement them in our homes without undertaking a complete renovation.

So, what can we look forward to this year? You’ll have to listen to find out all the design details, but we can reveal that 2019 is shaping up to be the year when the mid-century modern revival dies and is replaced by a more modern, updated version of the industrial aesthetic. This means exposed iron, concrete surfaces and floors, and lots of masculine patterns. Machado says we’re also seeing the return of ’90s style (much like in fashion) with bold, primary colors and hues (as accents, not on walls) and other richer, deep colors like hunter green and burgundy.

Following that, Machado talks the dissolution of the formal dining room and offers up some other unique and creative options for alternative uses of that space including listenings rooms and dens. Finally, we wrap up the conversation with some tips and tricks on decluttering your home and preparing your space with a system to prevent that clutter from creeping back over the course of 2019. Prepare to hear Greg’s mind being blown over a few of these.
