‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Inspires New Grooming Collection for the Aspiring Spy

Besides bespoke suits, sharp spectacles, and killer instincts, a clean-shaven face is a distinctive feature of a Kingsman. A member of this elite cadre of secret agents won’t step out with even the tiniest hint of 5 o’ clock shadow, so it makes sense that shear genius The Art of Shaving would partner with the team behind Kingsman: The Golden Circle (due in theaters September 22) to produce a shaving collection that helps you get super (spy) smooth.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle Bourbon Shave Collection includes everything you need to groom in a manner that befits a well-maintained gentleman: essential oil infused Pre-Shave Oil, hydrating Shaving Cream, and soothing After-Shave Balm. The Art of Shaving aptly chose to pair the products with the brand’s booze-inspired, warm, woodsy Bourbon Amber scent (perfect for the American counterparts, though Scotch might be a true Brit’s drink of choice). Rounding out the collection is a double-edge safety razor — because, even when it comes to shaving, spies live on the edge — imprinted with a Kingsman’s signature plaid pattern. If you would prefer a professional to wield the razor, The Art of Shaving is offering the indulgent Kingsman Experience — an express facial, royal shave, and scalp treatment — at some of its barbershops.

If you also want to smell of a clandestine organization, online retail shop Mr. Porter is showcasing an exclusive scent created by niche label The Perfumer’s Story by Azzi Glasser ($150). The fragrance blends refined English notes, including Earl Grey tea and laurel leaf, with more rugged American elements, like tobacco flower. In fact, Mr. Porter teamed up with the franchise’s director, Matthew Vaughn, and costumer designer, Arianne Phillips, to curate an entire line of Kingsman-inspired menswear.

How to trim a beard the right way — from stubble to full-on lumberjack
Choose the right beard, get the right tools, and master these techniques for a great look
Beard trimming

At first glance, how to trim a beard seems like an easy problem to solve. I have first-hand experience with this, as my beard grew out evenly when I decided to sprout one. Even better, it came in with a reddish color that complemented my long face and Scotch-Irish ancestry on my father’s side. The basic color and uniformity made it easy to overlook the inevitable mistakes I made, so the toughest task was reminding myself to trim every other day. Otherwise, I would grow a small beard forest that was tough to handle.
For many men, though, it’s not so simple. That’s especially true for beard novices and for those men whose beards serve up some surprises. When that happens, trimming becomes a tougher task, so a brief tactical review is a solid idea.

Montblanc announces new woodsy fragrance
new montblanc scent

While the summer tends to bring a flurry of citrusy and airy fragrances for men, that doesn’t mean you have to wait for fall to get a woodsy scent. Although darker and woodier fragrances pair well with the colder months, there are still summer colognes out there that are perfect for the everyday outdoorsman. One of the more recent fragrances to follow this path comes from the luxury brand, Montblanc. Known for their luxurious approach to the outdoors and timeless watches, the brand is also home to many must-have scents. As part of their Explorer series, the new Montblanc fragrance is richer and poignant, making it a statement addition to their cologne lineup. While the series was only released in 2019, this latest iteration feels unlike anything they’ve developed before.
