Countdown to the 2018 Winter Olympics like an Official Timekeeper with the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Timepiece

In case you didn’t know, Omega, the luxury Swiss watchmaker, has been the official timekeeper for the Olympics Games since 1932.

To celebrate the one year countdown to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeonchang, South Korea, the acclaimed brand has released the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean timepiece.

Limited to only 2018 pieces, the Seamaster Planet Ocean sports the colors of the South Korean flag (red, blue, and white) in a stainless steel case with a polished blue ceramic dial with applied rhodium-plated indexes, and coated with white Super-LumiNova that emits a soothing blue glow.

But it’s what’s inside this watch that really makes it stand out. The watch’s inner workings are powered by an OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8900. According to Omega, “As a Master Chronometer, the watch has passed the highest level of watch testing in the industry, having endured eight rigorous tests over 10 days, set down by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.” With that kind of quality-control, you know you’re getting only the very best in a timepiece.

In addition to the watch’s precision timekeeping abilities and stylish dial, its backside features a new alveol-patterned screw-in caseback, engraved with the words “Planet Ocean” and “Limited Edition,” along with the timepiece’s limited edition production number. The caseback’s sapphire crystal (allowing you to see its mechanism in action) has the phrase “Pyeongchang 2018” emblazoned in the colors of the Olympic rings, as well as the Winter Games logo.

The watch is delivered in a luxuriously spectacular box (see above) and comes with a blue rubber strap and an extra stainless steel bracelet (not to mention a strap tool to help you easily change into either option).
