Today we speak to New York based DJ, Brendan Fallis about his road to success and personal style.

I was born in a small town in Canada called Durham.  It has one stoplight and a population of 2,500 people.  I moved to New York City in 2007 to set out on a new path in the fashion business. I worked for a boutique fashion consulting firm and then moved on to work with a brand in-house. I wasn’t making a lot of money so I started moonlighting as a DJ to eat for free with a friend of mine who managed a restaurant. Suddenly, I was getting compliments and I got moved from Monday to Friday and then Saturday as well. I was then DJing 6/7 days a week and after working that many nights and still holding down a full time job, I decided to leave my day job. My DJ career has given me the freedom to explore different opportunities during the day.

I’ve DJed pretty much everywhere in New York at some point in time, but I’ve stepped back from the nightclub scene and am mostly working with brands and events and focusing on some of my own music. I’m more of an open format style DJ, but really just anything that sounds happier, upbeat and makes people feel good.

I just moved to the East Village so I’ve been finding all sorts of cool spots around here to hang out.  To be honest, I can’t even remember the names of most of them as I’ve only been once or twice.  I still find myself in Soho/Nolita (my old hood) a ton though.  There are lots of great places opening there all the time so it’s tough not to stroll down there.

As for my personal style, someone recently told me I had a rugged varsity look, which I think fits quite well.  Making use of the classics, but letting them slide a bit.

The pre-owned luxury watch market is down, but prices for these 2 Rolexes are up
Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi

According to the Bloomberg Subdial Watch Index, which tracks the 50 most traded luxury watches, the pre-owned luxury watch market moved down around 0.1% last month, marking the sign of a patient market that wants more. This isn't necessarily surprising —the index has fallen 8.7% in the past year. But there are a couple of Rolex watches that are bucking the trend: the Rolex Starbucks and the Rolex Pepsi, which gained 3.2% and 3.3%, respectively.

The overall stagnation of the watch market can have various factors, including anticipation for newer releases. External factors like economic and geopolitical conflicts have also affected the way consumers choose to purchase watches. Prices soared during the pandemic, so a leveling out at some point was expected.
What are the ‘Starbucks’ and ‘Pepsi’ watches from Rolex?
