Get Buc Wild !

There is nothing like a new, fresh and clean pair of bucs.  They traditionally came in just two colors, dusty, often called ‘dirty’, or white.  But today, there are so many more colors and styles from which to choose.   Nubuck is top-grain cattle leather that has been sanded or buffed on the grain side, or outside, to give a slight nap, producing a velvet-like surface. It is similar to suede. Differing in that suede is created from the inner side of a hide, whereas nubuck is created from the outer side of a hide, giving it more strength and thickness along with a fine grain. It is generally a bit more expensive than suede, but well worth the little extra.

There is also nothing like a beat-to-hell pair of bucs.  They almost tell a story of the wearer; where they’ve been, what they’ve had split on them, a bit of a badge of honor to some. Comfort is key here. Bucs all feature a rubber sole, which make a significant difference if you’ve on your feet all evening, with a stiff cocktail in your hand.

Walk-Over

With it’s Classic New England take on preppy, the Derby 100, having a suede upper, calfskin lining, cushioned foot bed and Goodyear construction, offer a great flair to any occasion, and are made in the U.S. Navy and Kelly Green are always a hit !

Not only does Cole Haan have enhanced cushioning, flexibility and dashing good looks, but color is king. The Lunar Grand features the cushioned Nike Lunarlon Technology.  Look good AND feel good, especially here in a wingtip buc.  Color and your favorite pair of chinos.

Mark McNairy x Union

This great collaboration is beyond cool.  Made in the U.K., this shoe features contrast laces and welt.  Here, with perforated and pinked (oft called ‘perfed” and ‘pinked’) details, a wingtip buc can add to your traditional style quotient.  Imagine these with a plaid short.

This new Cartier watch tells time backwards
Turn back time with the new Santos
Cartier Rewind on wrist

Wristwatches may be distinctly masculine pieces of hardware now, thanks to some very popular people in pop culture and in our own history adopting them. British super spy James Bond, movie stars, and athletes are the people we look up to who wear watches that catch our eye. Soldiers, cops, firefighters, and first responders wear watches they trust to ensure they can save lives. Pilots and divers created an entire industry around watches specifically designed for their vocations. And the very first pilot's watch was none other than a Cartier watch.

Alberto Santos-Dumont was a pioneer in the flight world and was one of the first people on Earth to achieve air travel. He was a competitor of the Wright Brothers, and, depending on the source, he preceded them in flight. In any case, the French celebrity went to Louis Cartier, another pioneer of his craft, and procured a square timekeeper meant for the wrist. The Cartier Santos Dumont was born. Over a century later, Cartier attended Watches and Wonders and presented the newest in the line of Santos watches, one that reverses time.
