Bonobos Teams with All-Star Jimmy Butler on First-Ever Ad Campaign

For a brand that started out focused on the perfect pair of  chinos, Bonobos has grown in a big way — and that’s only set to continue, as Bonobos just launched its first-ever ad campaign featuring NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler.

Butler, a devoted fan of the brand, is the company’s first brand ambassador, and it’s only fitting that he’ll be showcasing all sorts of stylish fall menswear in the E-commerce-driven retailer’s first-ever advertising campaign. What’s more, Bonobos fans can also shop the Olympic gold medalist’s stylish picks at the brand’s Web site now.

The partnership–much like the brand’s gear–is centered around a balance of confidence and humility, reflected in the title of the campaign (“Wear No Doubts”). The fact that the brand has held fast to its core principles of fit and quality–all the while expanding into more product categories outside its classic washed chinos–reflects both sides of that equation, too.

Bonobos CEO and Founder Andy Dunn says Butler himself is exemplary of that balance, noting that it’s an honor for the brand to partner with such a dedicated fan.

“Jimmy exhibits what it means to wear ‘no doubts’ both on and off the court,” Dunn explained.

Butler feels the partnership is a natural extension of his love for the brand, too.

“The quality, style and fit are consistently on-point,” Butler explained, saying that the brand makes it easy to find clothes that work perfectly off the rack without tailoring — something that’s normally difficult.

And if Butler can find clothes that fit him, it stands to reason that the everyday menswear fan will find more than enough options, from washed button-down shirts to fall-ready corduroys to the rest of Jimmy Butler’s Bonobos picks, (which include a stylish red floral shirt and a tailored camel topcoat, among other pieces).

The larger campaign launch — which features a mix of national print and online ads to go along with local broadcast content in cities like Houston, Atlanta, and Chicago–reflects the big ways in which the brand has grown from that first pair of washed chinos (which really do fit quite well).

The new fall collection is no exception. Seriously, Bonobos can do everything from crisp washed chinos in fall-appropriate colors to grey herringbone trousers practically begging to be paired with everything from leather chukka boots to your favorite pair of retro-inspired sneakers.
