TGIF Shopping: Woolrich Re-Teams with FairEnds For Limited-Edition Cap Collection

Outdoor clothing company Woolrich is teaming with classic American cap-makers FairEnds for an exclusive collaboration launching today.

“Partnering with a brand like Woolrich, whose history in American apparel and design goes back 186 years, offers an incredibly exciting opportunity to bring these historic patterns to new life,” said Ben Ferencz and Martin Carvajal, co-founders of FairEnds.

The limited-edition collection of Made in the USA wool caps features wool from the Woolrich Woolen Mill archives in FairEnds’ signature unstructured, six-panel design.

It’s not the two brands first time linking up. After their mega-successful cap and blanket collaboration sold out quickly in 2015, the two decided to give it a second go, this time producing caps available in three different patterns.

This was hardly a phoned in project. The two brands linked up in Woolrich, Pennsylvania, home of the historic Woolrich Woolen Mill – the longest continuously operating, vertically integrated mill in the country. After rifling through the mill’s expansive archive, they whittled their favorites down to just three.

Tasked with choosing a favorite, Joshua Rich, executive vice president at Woolrich (and eighth generation descendant of founder John Rich), had a hard time choosing. “I really like the fact that every cap is slightly different and unique and even two caps made from the same pattern wool aren’t identical. I was looking through the different caps when they arrived and was having a hard time deciding which one was my favorite. If I had to choose one, I guess I would go with the wool cream because it’s a timeless pattern from our historic mill archives, but feels really fresh for spring.  Honestly, I will likely end up getting one of each.”

The three patterned, limited-edition caps will be available in dark red, multi-ombre and wool cream exclusively at woolrich.com and FairEnds.com and in Woolrich stores in SoHo and Boston starting today, February 4, 2016.
