Worn Out Wednesday – Evan Rosenberg

Today we speak to Evan Rosenberg, Partner, Atwood Kitchen & Bar Room.

I have lived in New York my whole life, calling Manhattan home for the past 10.  While in college for web design, I landed my first hospitality job with the Hudson & Royalton Hotels (Morgans Hotel Group), handling weekend marketing, promotions and DJ bookings.  It was there that I met my current business partner Dan Rieger, who shares the same passion for the bar and restaurant industry that I do.

From there my hospitality career took off, entering a nightlife startup company that connected customers to bars, restaurants and clubs around NYC. As the director of sales, I signed up 175 Manhattan and New Jersey based venues, which eventually led to my next job as the head of in-house marketing and promotions at Paige Hospitality Group. Fast forward three and a half years, at the age of 28 I contacted Dan and we decided the time had come for us to open our own venue. Atwood Kitchen & Bar Room was born.

My philosophy is that excellence in one area of life promotes excellence in all others. This is why I work so hard at creating a brand around everything I love. I try to incorporate fashion, design, social media, health, networking and fitness into all things Atwood.

As for my personal style, I try and be unique. I know the way that one dresses has an impact on the first impression someone has (better be a good one!) so I try and always ensure that what I wear gives off a great reflection to not only my employees but also the customers I deal with each and every day.

Jeans: I am not a huge denim guy but I prefer Sevens (the Paxtyn cut) Skinny.

Shirts: White button downs are my go-to as they can be dressed up or down very easily. My favorite is a custom fitted button down, but for the relaxed feel I go with J. Crew or John Varvatos.

Pants: Club Monaco is the best for functionality. They are a great every day pant that can easily be dressed up with a tucked in button down or sports coat.

Suits: Some of the best things in my closet are my custom suits.  It is not just about the suit but rather the experience I have creating it.  Windsor Custom is great with this.  To me, it is important to feel and touch each fabric and texture before I wear it. You can choose everything – buttons, stitching, lining etc and enjoy a cocktail while doing it.   VKNagrani is also a great company for suiting; they have a great hidden “lodge” over on East 77th street.

Shoes:

Dress shoes: Paul Smith or John Varvatos wingtips, Duke & Dexter, Massimo Dutti Moccasins

Fitness/Training shoes: Nike & Asics

Comfort: Keds Champion Slip On

Best cheap hang out t-shirts, button downs, sweats: Uniqlo

Hat: Atwood Trucker Hat

Bracelets: The Charming Bee, Trashness, Divine Heir

Watches: Panerai PAM 164 Luminor Marina (Black Face) with interchangeable watchbands.

 Glasses: Warby Parker

Jackets: John Varvatos, Ralph Lauren Diamond Quilted Vest, Leather Ralph Lauren Biker Jacket

Favorite Cologne: Bond No. 9 Bleeker Street

Your favorite App: Most used – Instagram.  Most helpful – Uber.

Favorite piece of technology: My Prong phone case.  It allows me to charge my iPhone without a wire or while I am on the go.

Next tech purchase: I plan on purchasing about 8-9 TVs for the Bar Room at Atwood before September and a new iPhone for myself.
